  • Patent number: 10460168
Abstract: Methods for improving data accuracy in a positioning system database using aerial imagery are provided. In one aspect, a method includes obtaining a two-dimensional image providing an aerial perspective of a building including a business, and receiving from a user a path identifier indicative of a virtual roadway proximal to the building, a first identifier in the first two-dimensional image of a first edge, second edge, and entrance of the business relative to the building. The method also includes determining first, second, and third latitude and longitude pairings on a map for the first identifier, second identifier, and third identifier, respectively, and providing, for display in the image, an identification of the first edge, second edge, and entrance of the business. Systems and machine-readable media are also provided.

In one aspect, a method includes obtaining an image of a building including a business, and receiving from a user a first identifier in the image of a first edge of the business. The first identifier is associated with a first axis heading in the direction of the first edge of the business. The method also includes receiving from the user a second identifier of a second edge of the business, the second identifier associated with a second axis, receiving from the user a third identifier of an entrance to the business, the third identifier associated with a third axis, and identifying first, second, and third points on the first, second, and third axes, respectively, to identify the first edge, the second edge, and the entrance of the business on the map. • Publication number: 20080183694
Abstract: A web site for publishing content for a plurality of users allows searching of the contact to be affected by the social network of the searcher. A user has a social network that is measured by the degrees of separation between the user and other users and groups. In other words, “friends of friends” are further separated than “friends”. This information is useful when search results are returned that include content published by other users. The degree of separation between the searcher and the other user is used to rank the search results.

  • Publication number: 20070130339
Abstract: A system and methods for implementing education online by providing institutions with the means for allowing the creation of courses to be taken by students online, the courses including assignments, announcements, course materials, chat and whiteboard facilities, and the like, all of which are available to the students over a network such as the Internet. Various levels of functionality are provided through a three-tiered licensing program that suits the needs of the institution offering the program. In addition, an open platform system is provided such that anyone with access to the Internet can create, manage, and offer a course to anyone else with access to the Internet without the need for an affiliation with an institution, thus enabling the virtual classroom to extend worldwide.
