  • Publication number: 20170113074
Abstract: The invention concerns a punch device that includes an actuating member of flat proportions, a penetrating tool with a sharp tip carried by the actuating member, a compressible spacer attached to the surface of the actuating member alongside the penetrating tool and mounting means for mounting the punch device on a glass sheet with the tip of the penetrating tool directed towards the glass sheet. The arrangement is such that a force of sufficient magnitude applied to the actuating member in an axial direction towards the glass sheet compresses the spacer and drives the tip of the penetrating tool into contact with the glass sheet thereby to break the glass sheet. In one application the punch device can be used to break an emergency exit window in a bus.

  • Patent number: 8952257
Abstract: An electrical conductor carries a rated current in a high-current bushing of a transformer. The electrical conductor includes a conductor piece which extends along an axis and has a cylindrical envelope surface, a first electrical connection, and a second electrical connection. The first electrical connection has two contact surfaces which are aligned parallel to one another. Electrical losses of the electrical conductor are kept low, with a compact design. This is achieved, in part, because the second electrical connection is connected without a joint to the conductor piece, and the first electrical connection is hollow and, at right angles to the axis, has an oval profile with two longitudinal faces which form the two contact surfaces.

  • Patent number: 5760329
Abstract: An ammunition round for guns has a cartridge case provided with a detonator cap at one end, a bullet inserted in the other open end and an explosive charge between them. The base of the bullet has a recess in which there is a pyrotechnic insert generating an illuminated trace when the bullet is fired. The bullet may be an expanding bullet. The round provides a bullet with an integral trace device.
