  • Patent number: 11918292
Abstract: A fixation apparatus may be attached to first and second anatomical structure segments. Images of the fixation apparatus and the attached anatomical structure segments may then be captured. In some examples, the images need not necessarily be orthogonal with respect to one another. Configuration information associated with the fixation apparatus may then be received. Additionally, first image information may be received, for example including indications of one or more locations, within the images, of at least part of one or more elements of the fixation apparatus. Additionally, second image information may be received, for example including indications of one or more locations, within the images, of at least part of the first and the second anatomical structure segments. Manipulations to the fixation apparatus for correction of the anatomical structure deformity may then be determined, and indications of the determined manipulations may then be provided to one or more users.

  • Publication number: 20220338788
Abstract: Apparatus for the non-invasive in-vivo determination of changes in tissue, e.g. the myelination, of the optic nerve (ON) in a biological subject, said apparatus comprising: a laser source for generating an excitation laser beam; an optical system including a fundus camera operatively associated with the laser source for use in obtaining a fundus image for illuminating the optic nerve (ON) of a subject with the excitation laser beam; a detector (13) operatively associated with the optical system and configured to detect a Raman spectrum from the optic nerve (ON) and/or surrounding cerebral spinal fluid; and a processor provided with a computer program for comparing the detected Raman spectrum to at least one reference spectrum. The reference spectrum may correspond to the myelination of the optic nerve in a normal, healthy subject, for determining the changes in the myelination of the optic nerve of the subject based on the detecting and comparing steps from the Raman spectrum.

  • Patent number: 10363407
Abstract: Embodiments include a fiducial deployment system with a handle configured for actuation of the same, the handle including a collet mechanism actuatable for controlled, one-at-a-time deployment of fiducials. A fiducial may include one or more protuberances configured to engage one or more slots in a needle of the system. The needle may be configured to deliver a plurality of fiducials to a target location in serial fashion, one at a time. In certain embodiments, echogenic placement of fiducials may present certain advantages. The handle includes an actuation mechanism with a collet and plunger actuation member configured for incrementally or otherwise controlledly deploy one or more fiducials at a time by advancing a sty let through and/or retracting the body of a slotted needle in which fiducials are disposed with a fiducial protrusion extending into the needle slot, which also includes retaining structures that do not impede the needle lumen.

  • Patent number: 10299769
Abstract: An endoscopic tissue-sampling needle includes an elongate needle shaft having a proximal and a distal shaft portion. The proximal shaft portion includes an inner tubular core that may be constructed of a same material as the distal shaft portion, having a longer length and a smaller outer diameter than the distal shaft portion. The distal shaft portion extends into and is fixedly attached to an inner diameter of a distal shaft portion lumen. The distal shaft portion lumen is configured for collection of patient tissue, with a distal penetrating tip and/or a side aperture with a cutting edge configured to excise tissue from a target site in a patient body. The proximal shaft portion includes polymer coating around the inner tubular core, which is configured to provide an outer diameter for the proximal shaft portion that may be substantially the same as the outer diameter of the distal shaft portion.

  • Patent number: 10258373
Abstract: Embodiments include a fiducial deployment system. A fiducial may include dimples to enhance echogenicity and/or to provide for engagement with a delivery cannula or stylet. The needle system may be configured to deliver a plurality of fiducials to a target location in serial fashion, one at a time, when the fiducials are coaxially disposed around a central deployment member that may be embodied as a delivery cannula or stylet. In certain embodiments, echogenic placement of fiducials may present certain advantages. An elongate structure may be included that is configured to distally advance fiducials along the deployment member.
