  • Publication number: 20250001107
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a single-directional insufflator or breath-powered nasal device that provides unique dual airflow for propelling a drug substance into a nasal cavity, preferably deep into the superior nasal cavity and into the olfactory region and the trigeminal nerve mucosa, for rapid diffusion into the brain for the treatment of nasal and/or central nervous system (“CNS”) injury, disease or disorder, especially brain injury, such as traumatic brain injury (“TBI”), including concussion, and methods regarding nasal treatment therewith. Breath-powered nasal devices for delivering a somewhat tight or confined, concentrated plume of drug substance deep into the nasal cavity to targeted sites, bypassing the blood brain barrier, namely the olfactory nerve to provide concentrated drug substance for direct absorption into the brain are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11390393
Abstract: A nacelle assembly includes a fixed inlet segment and a translating inlet segment. The translating inlet segment includes a slider beam laterally between a pair of tracks of the fixed inlet segment. The slider beam is mated with and slidable longitudinally along the pair of tracks. The translating inlet segment is configured to translate longitudinally between a retracted position and an extended position. An aft end of the translating inlet segment is abutted against a forward end of the fixed inlet segment when the translating inlet segment is in the retracted position. An airflow inlet into an inlet passage of the nacelle assembly is opened longitudinally between the aft end of the translating inlet segment and the forward end of the fixed inlet segment when the translating inlet segment is in the extended position.

  • Patent number: 8519984
Abstract: An input device capable of optically communicating with an electronic apparatus is provided. The input device includes a light source, a force sensor, and a controller. The force sensor is configured to sense a force applied to a tip of the input device and generate a first sensing signal corresponding to the sensed force. The controller is electrically connected to the light source and the force sensor, and configured to receive the first sensing signal and control the light source to generate light pulses in response to the first sensing signal according to a predefined protocol.

  • Publication number: 20130197941
Abstract: In one embodiment, an emergency response health information system includes: (a) a patient tag; (b) an access device; and (c) an information processing system. In one embodiment, the patient tag includes: (a) an indicia; and (b) a unique patient identifier. In one embodiment, the access device is configured to read the indicia and transmit the indicia to the information processing system. After a secure connection is established between the access device and the information processing system, the access device enables a user to enter a unique patient identifier and transmits the entered unique patient identifier to the information processing system. In one embodiment, the information processing system is configured to, after the entered unique patient identifier has been transmitted, transmit, to the access device, a first health information component.

  • Patent number: 8495389
Abstract: A method for preventing unauthorized use of a software program on a computing device includes updating a state of a software program on a computing device to an updated state. Transmitting an update signal from the software program to a hardware token coupled to the computing device and updating a state of the hardware token to an updated state in response to the received update signal. Performing a first cryptographic check using the updated state of the software program and the updated state of the hardware token with the hardware token. Transmitting the first cryptographic check from the hardware token to the software program and performing a second cryptographic check using the state of the hardware token and the state of the software program with the computing device.

  • Publication number: 20110175444
Abstract: A remote station may be constructed such that components or the station arc placed upon a skid and transported to a remote site. When deposited at the remote site, the remote station may cause a minimal disturbance on the ground while providing the necessary remote services, such as power and communications, because the skid may simply rest upon the ground, and the components rest atop the skid.
