Patent number: 9440335Abstract: A valve bridge adjustment tool has top and bottom sections disposed in fixed relation to each other and preferably made of steel or another durable metal alloy. The bottom section has a U-shaped recess with an open end that is releasably engageable with a knuckle of a valve bridge to stabilize the bridge whenever a jam nut is either loosened or tightened. The top section comprises a hexagonal outer wall and a substantially cylindrical bore adapted to receive the jam nut upwardly through the U-shaped recess into the bottom portion of the bore, with sufficient remaining clearance around the jam nut to permit insertion of a pass-through socket into the top of the bore and into engagement with the jam nut. The subject invention is especially useful with many internal combustion engines having four valves per cylinder.Type: GrantFiled: November 18, 2013Date of Patent: September 13, 2016Inventor: Eric Michael Correia

Patent number: 7895240Abstract: A method for managing information is described. The method includes generating a first database in a first memory device, storing, by an administrator via a server system, a plurality of questions in the first database, where the plurality of questions relate to project information, and storing, by the administrator, a plurality of answers and a plurality of options related to the project information, where each answer corresponds to one of the plurality of questions and one of the options. The method further includes associating, by the administrator, the plurality of answers with a task by pre-defining, within the first database, the task to be performed based on the plurality of answers. The method also includes associating, by the administrator, a plurality of tools used to complete the task with the task, where the plurality of tools include at least one of templates used to manage the task, experts on the task, and frequently asked questions regarding the task.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 2005Date of Patent: February 22, 2011Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventors: Anbumani Dhayalan, Cary Michael Correia, Jeremy Miles Filiatrault, Sukhminder Singh Grewal, Neetu Agarwal

Patent number: 6977983Abstract: In a nuclear power plant making use of a high temperature gas cooled reactor, it is necessary, prior to commencing power generation and connection of a generator to an electrical distribution grid, to condition the power generation circuit of the plant. This involves creating stable conditions within the power generation circuit. To this end, the plant includes a start-up blower system for circulating working fluid, typically helium, around the power generation circuit until the desired conditions are satisfied. The start-up blower system typically includes a normally open in-line valve, at least one blower connected in parallel with the in-line valve and a normally closed isolation valve connected in series with the blower. Conditioning the power generation circuit will typically include stabilizing the pressure in the circuit at between 10 bar and 50 bar.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 2002Date of Patent: December 20, 2005Assignee: Pebble Bed Modular Reactor (Pty) Ltd.Inventors: Michael Correia, Willem Adriaan Odendaal Kriel

Publication number: 20040131138Abstract: A nuclear plant includes a closed loop power generation circuit which makes use of a Brayton cycle as a thermodynamic conversion cycle. The plant further includes a start-up blower system having an in-line valve and a blower connected in parallel with the in-line valve. Further a normally closed blower isolation valve is provided in series with the blower and a blower bypass arrangement in parallel with the blower. A method of starting the Brayton cycle includes bringing the power generation circuit into standby mode in which helium is circulated around the power generation circuit by the start-up blower system and increasing power generated in the power generation circuit until the helium is circulated around the power generation circuit by a compressor independently of the start-up blower system.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 24, 2003Publication date: July 8, 2004Inventors: Michael Correia, Adriaan Odendaal Kriel
