  • Patent number: 8934380
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer readable media for inducing the activation of a service trigger at a switching office in a communications network are disclosed. According to one method, a call setup message associated with a call is received. It is then determined whether service trigger induction is required for the call. In response to determining that service trigger induction is required for the call, the call setup message is modified to include service trigger induction information and the modified call setup message is directed to a destination switching office. At the destination switching office, a service trigger is activated based on the service trigger induction information in the modified call setup message.

  • Patent number: 8224337
Abstract: The subject matter described herein includes methods, systems, and computer readable media for providing foreign routing address information to a telecommunications network gateway. According to one aspect, the method includes, at a call signaling message routing node in a first telecommunications network, intercepting a call setup message that includes a called party number identifier and is directed towards a network gateway connected to at least one foreign telecommunications network. The method also includes accessing a foreign routing information database using an ENUM formatted query message to obtain foreign routing address information associated with the at least one foreign telecommunications network, modifying the call setup message to include the address information, and routing the modified call setup message towards the network gateway.

  • Patent number: 7218386
Abstract: Method and apparatus are described for determining if an optically variable material (OVM) is present in or on a surface, typically of a security document such as a banknote. In some embodiments the particular type of OVM is identified. In other embodiments a pass or fail signal is generated depending on whether a specific OVM is found on the surface. The surface is subjected to at least two different wavelengths of illuminating light at a particular angle to the surface and the intensity of the light reflected and/or scattered light from the surface is determined using photodiodes. The analogue output from the photodiodes may be digitised and the digital values processed according to one or another of different algorithms described, so as to produce an output signal whose value can be compared with one or more stored reference values in a look-up table, to produce a decision signal.
