  • Publication number: 20240181324
Abstract: A controller and methods for operating the controller are provided for an improved paddle, such as a pickleball paddle. The controller operates in a low-power state to ignore all inputs other than a “wake” input, such as tapping a pickleball on the controller or housing of the controller. Programmable options are presented, such as by computer generated/recorded speech, for selection via a mechanical input (e.g., a tap). The controller then operates to report ball strikes received on an impact sensor and reports the location of the impact to the user, such as with generated/recorded speech. As a result, the user may receive near real-time feedback of their performance and where they are striking a ball with a paddle comprising the controller and impact sensor. Focus functions are provided, such as to illuminate a particular LED to indicate an impact with the paddle, strike location, or both.

  • Patent number: 11993152
Abstract: A driveline includes a driver configured to be positioned between an engine and a transmission. The driver includes a housing, a motor/generator, and a clutch. The housing includes an engine mount configured to couple to the engine and a backing plate configured to couple to the transmission. The motor/generator is disposed within the housing and configured to couple to an input of the transmission. The clutch is disposed within the housing and coupled to the motor/generator. The clutch is configured to selectively couple an output of the engine to the motor/generator. The clutch is configured to be spring-biased into engagement with the engine and pneumatically disengaged by an air supply selectively provided thereto.

  • Patent number: 11987128
Abstract: A military vehicle include a driveline. The driveline includes a first driver including an engine, an energy storage system, an accessory drive coupled to the engine, a transmission coupled to at least one of the front axle or the rear axle, and a second driver coupled to the engine and the transmission. The accessory drive includes a plurality of accessories and a first motor. The first motor is electrically coupled to the energy storage system. The first motor is positioned to facilitate selectively driving the plurality of accessories. The second driver includes a second motor electrically coupled to the energy storage system.

  • Patent number: 11968235
Abstract: A system and method for cybersecurity reconnaissance, analysis, and scoring that uses distributed, cloud-based computing services to provide sufficient scalability for analysis of enterprise IT networks using only publicly available characterizations. The system and method comprise an in-memory associative array which manages a queue of vulnerability search tasks through a public-facing proxy network. The public-facing proxy network has search nodes configurable to present the network to search tools in a desired manner to control certain aspects of the search to obtain the desired results. A distributed data processing engine and cloud-based storage are used to provide scalable computing power and storage. A data packet modifier is used to reveal the IP address of a threat actor behind a port scan and subsequently block the threat actor. Each of the cloud-based computing services is containerized and orchestrated for management and efficient scaling purposes.

  • Patent number: 11958361
Abstract: A military vehicle includes an engine, an energy storage system, an accessory drive coupled to the engine and including an air compressor and a first motor, a second motor coupled to an axle, and a clutch positioned between the engine and the second motor. The clutch is spring-biased into engagement with the engine and pneumatically disengaged by an air supply selectively provided thereto based on operation of the air compressor. In an engine mode, (i) the clutch does not receive the air supply such that the engine is coupled to the second motor and (ii) the engine drives (a) the accessory drive and (b) the axle through the second motor. In the electric mode, (i) the first motor drives the air compressor to compress air to facilitate supplying the air supply to the clutch to disengage the clutch and decouple the engine from the second motor and (ii) the second motor drives the axle.

  • Publication number: 20070114028
Abstract: Fracturing of a subterranean formation may be achieved using a hydrogel. A preferred gel is formed from a gel precursor formulation which comprises an aqueous formulation of poly(1,4-di(4-(N-methylpyridinyl))-2,3-di(4-(1-formylphenyl)butylidene), poly (vinyl alcohol) and a suitable proppant, in the presence of an acid catalyst. The gel may be prepared at the surface with a viscosity of greater than 200 cp measured at 100 s?1 and then injected into the subterranean formation under high pressure to fracture the formation.

  • Publication number: 20070102544
Abstract: A heat shielding system is disclosed. The system is suitable for use with burner booms, as are found on oil rigs and vessels. In some embodiments, the system includes two types of fluid nozzles that are disposed near the end of the burner boom. The first type of nozzle, which in some embodiments receives a flow of fresh water, generates a very fine mist that is primarily responsible for shielding the oil rig, etc., and associated personnel from heat that radiates from the flame exiting the burner. The second type of nozzle generates a spray of liquid that is primarily responsible for acting as a wind shield for the mist that is dispensed from the first type of nozzle.

  • Publication number: 20070069537
Abstract: An apparatus for constraining and lifting rigid elongated material, such as pipe, is disclosed. The apparatus is structured so that it separates or decouples the pipe-constraining function and the lifting function. Consequently, the pipe-constraining apparatus is not classified as a “lifting” device and a relatively lighter-weight construction can be used to meet regulatory requirements.

  • Publication number: 20060102351
Abstract: Water problems in the production of oil or gas from subterranean formations is addressed by providing a method of restricting passage of a fluid from a first location to a second location in a subterranean formation by injecting into the formation a formulation comprising a first material, for example a dialdehyde, arranged to cross-link a second polymeric material, for example a polyvinyl alcohol, thereby to form a polymeric material of high viscosity which may block the passage between the first and second locations.
