Abstract: This invention provides a method for updating a document module for use with an application program on a remote computer from a host computer. The method includes the steps of creating a document module and storing the document module at a resource center, associating the document module with a time-dependent unique identifier. The method includes the further steps of comparing the time dependent unique identifier associated with the document module at the remote device to the identifier at the resource center, and transmitting the document module at the resource center when the version on the remote computer is superseded.
