  • Patent number: 4709785
Abstract: A retrofit emergency lubrication system utilizing friction-hydrostatic drive is disclosed. The retrofit system provides an emergency lubrication system backup to existing bearing lubrication systems such as for turbine-generator rotors. The retrofit system utilizes actuators to detect low bearing oil pressure and to activate resilient wheels to contact the rotor which drive high pressure pumps. The high pressure pumps in turn drive a hydraulic motor pump which in turn drives an oil supply tank pump.

  • Patent number: 4113622
Abstract: A filtering device for removing impurities from oil being returned to a reservoir from turbine oil drains. The filtering device is constructed in separable portions to facilitate selective removal and cleaning of some of the portions while diverting the oil which normally passes therethrough to an unremoved portion. The oil is diverted from a selected portion by inserting a plate into a guide which secures the diverting plate across the oil's normal path to the obstructed portion with additional guides being provided for the diverting plate so that it can be stored therein out of the oil's normal path toward the filtering device.

  • Patent number: 4112975
Abstract: A valving apparatus having an inlet port for providing fluid communication to a plurality of inlet chambers each of which has a fluid transfer port and having a plurality of outlet chambers each of which has a fluid transfer port and is in fluid communication with an outlet port. A first rotatable valve disc disposed on a shaft obstructs selected portions of the inlet port preventing fluid communication therethrough to selected inlet chambers and a second rotatable valve disc affixed to the same shaft is arranged to operate simultaneously with the first valve disc by blocking selected portions of the outlet port preventing fluid communication between the outlet port and the selected outlet chambers situated behind the blocked portions.
