  • Patent number: 11946025
Abstract: This invention relates to novel whitening agents for cellulosic substrates. The whitening agents are comprised of at least two components: at least one chromophore component and at least one polymeric component. Suitable chromophore components generally fluoresce blue, red, violet, or purple color when exposed to ultraviolet light, or they may absorb light to reflect these same shades. The whitening agents are further characterized by having a dispersion component value of the Hansen Solubility Parameter of less than or equal to about 17 MPa0.5. This invention also relates to laundry care compositions including but not limited to liquid and/or powder laundry detergent formulations and rinse added fabric softening (RAFS) compositions that comprise such whitening agents.

  • Patent number: 11918331
Abstract: A movement detection device includes a signal transmission device configured to transmit a radar signal transmission toward a target area and to receive reflected radar signals, and a signal analysis device configured to analyze the reflected radar signals to detect a movement in the target area that is indicative of micro-shivering. In response to detecting the micro-shivering, the movement detection device generates an alarm.

  • Patent number: 8387986
Abstract: Texas Hold'em is played between human and virtual machine players on electronic equipment. The virtual players fold up and the human does not. This allows the human to see the hold cards of the opponents and adds excitement to the game. Optionally, the human player gets a bonus for having a good hand regardless of who wins the pot. The bonus also adds excitement and interest. Preferably the virtual players have personalities. By creating a minimum number of personalities and changing personalities with players, user interest is maintained. In particular, adding these features to a Texas hold'em game with fold up procedure for virtual opponents increases user excitement.

  • Patent number: 6457438
Abstract: A device for confining an animal such as a dog is disclosed. The device consists of a plurality of sides, an unstable support element attached to each of the plurality of sides and a plurality of couplers for coupling each of the plurality of sides. The couplers allow relative movement of the sides such that pressing against one of the plurality of sides produces movement that discourages contact with the plurality of sides. If a dog contained in the device attempts to escape by scaling a side of the device, the relative movement of the plurality of sides will startle the dog. Consequently, the dog immediately moves away from the side and within minutes typically abandons any attempt to escape.

  • Patent number: 6152081
Abstract: A kennel system for confining domestic dogs consisting of four panel members (FIG. 5A) attached through a spring biasing element (FIG. 8) is presented. Each panel member consists of a first and second vertical corner post attached to upper and lower horizontal members. Each horizontal member contains a behavioral modification element (FIG. 4) for allowing each panel member to balance about a point. Consequently, when the contained animal brushes against the panels, they oscillate. This oscillatory motion startles the animal causing it to move away from the panels and towards the center of the kennel, thus, reinforcing desired behavior. Since the kennel system works in conjunction with the dog's natural instinct to move away from unstable objects, the top of the kennel is eliminated and the panels are lowered to allow for human interaction with the animal while it is confined.
