  • Publication number: 20240059352
Abstract: An articulated work machine with individually powered drive members. Each drive member is controlled by a corresponding electric motor, and is capable of rotating at a different speed and in the opposite rotational direction than all other drive members. Each drive member may also remain stationary while all other drive members rotate. The electric motors are commanded by a controller, which may be directed by inputs from by an operator. A lift arm extends from the front end of the vehicle, and a platform station extends from the rear end of the vehicle. The lift arm is connected to a tool, such as a bucket.

  • Patent number: 7658826
Abstract: A reference electrode including a water-impermeable, non-conductive substrate having a surface; an electrically conductive metal/metal salt mixture layer in contact with the surface; a water-soluble alkali metal salt layer; and a water-impermeable barrier layer overlaying a portion of the alkali metal salt layer and a portion of the metal/metal salt layer, and a method for preparing same are described. When the reference electrode is placed in a water sample to be tested, water enters the exposed portion of the alkali metal salt layer where it dissolves the salt forming a saturated solution in the region of contact between the alkali metal salt layer and the metal/metal salt layer.

  • Publication number: 20090007460
Abstract: An apparatus used to excavate trenches. In a preferred embodiment the trenching machine has a cutting disc supported on a frame and adapted to operate with the center point of the cutting disc below ground. A spoils handler supported above the cutting disc and forward of the center point is used to move spoils away from the cutting disc. The ratio of cutting depth to weight of the trenching assembly and the cutting depth to wheel diameter is improved through the use of a cutting disc that is concave. The outer rim of the concave disc may support a plurality of replaceable cutting member. The cutting disc is rotated using a drive assembly that is contained within the cutting width of the cutting disc.

  • Patent number: 4824342
Abstract: An injector device for a plunger-type pump of the type having one or more cylinders, an intake valve for each cylinder operatively disposed between the pump's low pressure inlet port and each of its cylinders and outlet valve(s) for each cylinder operatively disposed between the cylinders and the pump's high pressure outlet port, where the intake and outlet valves are held in place by removable threaded plugs which afford access to the valves so that they can be repaired or replaced. The injector device comprises a threaded plug member adapted to replace one of the removable plugs used to hold an intake valve in place, but also includes a longitudinal bore in which is mounted a one-way check valve. The inlet side of the check valve is adapted to be coupled to a chemical supply tank. Also, a restrictor is placed between the particular intake valve held in place by the injector plug and the pump's inlet port.

  • Patent number: 4197746
Abstract: A pipet for slurry and the like comprising a body with an end chamber containing a slidable element which, between them, defines a predetermined volume. The element includes an end plate to close the chamber, and a biased plunger is mounted in the body for moving the element so as to open and close the chamber and thus trap the predetermined volume of material to be sampled. The element is replaceable with one of different size to vary the volume of sample. In one form, a cutting edge on the body and a cutting surface on the end plate cooperate to sever fibrous material only partly in the chamber.

  • Patent number: 4053282
Abstract: A portion of a colorimetric liquid analyzer including a glass tube cell, a plunger mounted for reciprocation in the cell and having a passage to the cell, and a long liquid sample supply tube running from a body of liquid to be tested to the plunger passage. A "T" connector is provided in the tube and a pair of on-off valves which, together with the plunger, act to pump fixed volumes of fluid into and out of the cell. Means are provided to pump substantial air bubbles into the tube near its intake end, and the air bubbles are separated from the liquid through a vertical section of the T-connector so that only liquid is pumped into the cell. Preferably, acid is also added to the tube at its intake end to help dissolve particulate matter while the air bubbles continuously sweep the tube clean.
