  • Patent number: 11954946
Abstract: A method for performing a vehicle diagnostic process for diagnosing, scanning and/or programming a vehicle includes recording a diagnostic message from a diagnostic computer device to generate a recorded diagnostic message, transmitting the recorded diagnostic message to a local computer at a repair facility, with the diagnostic computer device being located remotely from the repair facility, and playing the recorded diagnostic message at the local computer for delivery via an interface device to an electronic system of a vehicle. The method then further includes recording with the local computer a vehicle message from the electronic system of the vehicle to generate a recorded vehicle message in response to playing the recorded diagnostic message, and transmitting the recorded vehicle message from the local computer to the diagnostic computer device.

  • Publication number: 20200378076
Abstract: What is needed is an apparatus and system for creating high contrast to heighten marking conspicuousness and heighten driver safety under extreme light conditions. According to the present disclosure, a ridged contrast surface marking may comprise a topography that may allow for consistently visible and conspicuous messaging of proximate base surface markings, which may limit loss of visibility or conspicuity during extreme light conditions. In some aspects, ridged contrast surface markings may be used in conjunction with more traditional contrasting and color techniques, such as with painting, coating, or tape. Ridged contrast surface markings may provide surrounding contrast to flat messaging or other profiled solutions, wherein even if light reflection in extreme light conditions may reduce visibility of the message, sufficient surrounding contrast would still allow for comprehension of the message.

  • Patent number: 10697138
Abstract: In some embodiments, a directional surface marking may provide directional messaging to users based on their direction of travel on a base surface, such as a roadway, walkway, or interior flooring, as non-limiting examples. In some aspects, the directional messaging may comprise different colors, text, or symbols, wherein a user may view different directional messaging on a directional surface marking dependent on direction of travel. In some embodiments, directional surface markings may comprise a profile layer, wherein the profile layer may comprise a plurality of profiles, which may provide a topography that allows for directional messaging utilizing surface colors on the topography.

  • Patent number: 10598643
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for detecting the presence of a type I pyrethroid in an object including the steps of (a) contacting the object with a solvent and an absorbent substrate, (b) separating the absorbent substrate from the object, (c) evaporating the solvent from the absorbent substrate, (d) treating the absorbent substrate with a solution comprising a nitrite salt in concentrated sulfuric acid, and (e) observing the absorbent substrate for a color change indicating the presence of the type I pyrethroid in the object. The invention also provides a kit for detecting the presence of the type I pyrethroid in an object.

  • Patent number: 8435794
Abstract: A process for testing a composition as containing an artemisinin derivative is provided that includes contacting the composition with a reagent made up of a hydrogen bonding polar organic solvent and an acid having a pK value of less than 3.8 at 25° Celsius and capable of acid catalyzing a decomposition reaction of the artemisinin derivative so as to provide a reaction mixture. The reaction mixture is allowed sufficient time at a reaction temperature for the artemisinin derivative to decompose to yield a colored decomposition product discerned by a normal unaided human eye. A kit for testing a composition for an artemisinin derivative according to the process is provided together with instructions for contacting the solvent and the acid with the composition to decompose the artemisinin derivative to yield the colored decomposition.
