  • Patent number: 10548575
Abstract: An examination device for use with a mobile device comprises a housing removably coupled to the mobile device. The housing may be coupled to the mobile device by a rear surface, opposing side surfaces, a top surface, and a retention lip that extends over the front of the mobile device. A retention structure may be mechanically coupled to the housing and may also define a rectangular slot. A tongue depressor may be retained by the retention structure and may also extend away from the rectangular slot. A cutaway may be defined by a wall of the housing. The cutaway may be positioned on the housing to expose a camera of the mobile device facing towards the end of the tongue depressor. The examination device is configured to manipulate an oral feature of a mouth while the camera of the mobile device captures an image of the mouth.

  • Patent number: 8774619
Abstract: A polarizing hood including a first polarized filter with the center of the filter removed. Placed forward and in front of the first polarized filter is a second linear polarized filter substantially the size of the hole in the first polarized filter and is held in place by a clear lens. The polarization may be adjusted. In response to light collocated with an objective lens shined through the first polarizing filter, the light become polarized. The reflected polarized light returns through the second polarized filter, and full polarization is accomplished with respect to the viewing camera.

  • Patent number: 7707462
Abstract: The present invention is directed to non-disruptive generation of core files for a computer appliance without rebooting the computer appliance. In an embodiment of the invention, the computer appliance is analyzed. A determination is made as to what core file generation options will be non-disruptive to the computer appliance. The tradeoff is evaluated between options that will generate core files which are more useful in diagnosing potential problems with the computer appliance and options which will generate core files which are less disruptive. A procedure is determined which will generate the core file without disrupting the computer appliance. Resources are allocated to utilize in generation of the core file. The procedure is then executed and a core file is generated without disrupting the computer appliance.
