  • Patent number: 11680588
Abstract: A lubrication system is provided for supplying lubricant to an air compressor. The air compressor is driven by a drive system. The lubrication system includes a reservoir configured to support lubricant and configured to receive pressurized air from the air compressor, the separator reservoir configured to separate lubricant from the air received from the air compressor; and a motor operably coupled to the drive system and configured to receive pressurized lubricant. The motor is configured to transmit power to the drive system in at least one operating condition.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 21, 2021
Date of Patent: June 20, 2023
Assignee: Joy Global Surface Mining Inc
Inventors: Michael D. Lanum, John Kenneth Luvaas, Scott R. McMahon
  • Patent number: 11209002
Abstract: An oil flooded screw compressor includes a housing with an inlet and an outlet, and a rotor supported within the housing by a bearing. The rotor is rotatable to compress air from the inlet to the outlet when the compressor is in an operating state, and the rotor is rotatable without compressing air when the compressor is in an idle state. The compressor also includes a pump configured to supply oil to the bearing only when the compressor is in the idle state.
