Abstract: A two piece pulling member is used to form a branched opening with a shoulder in a side wall of a malleable pipe without requiring the pulling member to be inserted from an end of the pipe. The pulling member has a base and a top that are individually placed through the initial hole in the pipe. The base and the top are assembled into a unit inside the pipe.

Abstract: A video signal generator provides a test pattern to a display device for measuring a motion artifact (e.g., moving-edge blur) of the display device. The test pattern includes a moving image and a shift velocity of a time-delay integration (TDI) camera is matched to the velocity of the moving image to track a moving edge of the image. The captured image is analyzed to determine a characteristic indicative of the motion artifact of the display device (e.g., the blur edge time).

Abstract: An identification card-carrier combination is produced in a simple yet effective manner so that first and second cards are disposed side-by-side but are not directly connected to each other though positively positioned with respect to each other on a top face of the carrier, and readily releasable from the carrier. The combination includes a paper substrate having first length and width dimensions and a top face, the first and second identification cards disposed side-by-side and immediately adjacent to each other (e.g. abutting each other) and having a predetermined position with respect to each other, but unconnected directly to each other (the identification cards collectively have second width and length dimensions much less than the first dimensions), and an adhesive substrate common to the cards affixing the cards to the substrate web top face to hold the cards to the substrate web during printing and mailing while allowing removal of the cards from the substrate without damage to the cards.

Abstract: The present invention consists of a metal trench grating and the method of manufacture by which it is constructed. The trench grating consists of plural cross bars having equi-spaced slots and a plurality of elongated rails inserted within the respective cross bar slots, and wherein a single weldment across the bottom of each cross bar provides complete fastening of the assembled trench guard. The method of manufacture stresses simplicity and quick assembly as the plural longitudinal rails are inserted in the plural-slotted cross bars and supported for final welding across the bottom central slot of each cross bar to produce the final form trench grating.
