  • Publication number: 20220047654
Abstract: Herein are described pharmabiotic compositions and methods of treatment using genetically modified bacteria that include a portion or a variant of human cDNA sequence. Generally, the modified bacterium has a genetic modification that includes the introduction or inclusion of non-native DNA which contain a human cDNA sequence that can be propagated in the genetically altered bacterium. As an example, the non-native DNA can include one or more portions of human cDNA that encode the enzyme phenylalanine hydroxylase. In an embodiment, the modified bacterium can be provided to a patient as a treatment for a metabolic disorder. In a non-limiting example, a modified bacterium including human cDNA encoding the enzyme phenylalanine hydroxylase can be provided to a patient suffering from a deficiency in phenylalanine hydroxylase or suffering from a mutation to the native gene that results in an inactive form of the enzyme.

  • Patent number: 7517119
Abstract: An externally adjustable directional canopy luminaire is disclosed that may be easily and quickly adjusted from the outside of its housing to direct light toward a particular target area. The luminaire includes a lamp shroud assembly including a door frame, a shroud and a lamp socket which is connectable to an electrical power source to power a replaceable lamp, an external adjustment member, and an internal mechanism movably connected to the external adjustment member through the shroud and indirectly connected to a portion of the lamp socket, wherein adjustment of the external adjustment member can alter the angle of direction of the lamp socket and thus the direction of light emitted from the replaceable lamp through the opening of the shroud.

  • Patent number: 6497499
Abstract: The present invention provides a luminaire component housing which has at least two upwardly opening pockets substantially equal to the heights of the components to be fitted therein. The component housing has a cover which cinches the components into their respective pockets, thereby eliminating the need for metal straps, screws or other traditional hardware to secure components into place.
