  • Publication number: 20240390189
Abstract: Goggles are described as including an outrigger, an elastic band, and one or more cages. The elastic band is coupled to the cage, which may then be disposed within an opening of the outrigger. Thus, the elastic band may be coupled to the outrigger and, accordingly, to the goggle frame, through the cage. Such a configuration may allow for the elastic band to have a stronger and more compact coupling to the outrigger and/or goggle frame. The cage may comprise metal or another material stronger than the material of the goggle frame and/or the outrigger. Furthermore, the cage may be more compact (e.g., narrower) than a typical connection while maintaining or improving strength.

  • Patent number: 12091517
Abstract: Compositions and films are described comprising a polylactic (PLA) polymer and a copolymer comprising a first moiety comprising a C12-C30 alkyl group and a second moiety that is miscible in the composition. Suitable first moieties include a C12-C30 alkyl (meth)acrylate or a polyvinyl alcohol comprising pendent C12-C30 alkyl groups. Suitable second moieties include C1-C10 (meth)acrylic acid or ester thereof, vinyl acetate and ethylene vinyl acetate. The aforementioned composition may be used to form a release layer of an adhesive article such as a pressure sensitive adhesive tape. The films may be a monolithic film or a film layer of a multilayer film. The release layer may be disposed upon a substrate layer that may also comprise PLA. The films are produced by melt extrusion of the aforementioned composition and may be oriented.

  • Publication number: 20240245160
Abstract: A protective helmet includes a liner configured to absorb energy from an impact, and a plurality of rotation-effects-mitigating pads coupled to an inner wall of the liner, such that the rotation-effects-mitigating pads are configured to contact the head of a user when the helmet is worn. The rotation-effects-mitigating pads are configured to facilitate rotation (e.g., slip) of the helmet relative to a user's head in response to an oblique impact. In some examples, the rotation-effects-mitigating pads comprise gas-filled bladders and/or pellet-containing bladders. In some examples, the-rotation-effects-mitigating pads are vented to atmosphere to facilitate the pads adapting to changes in pressure as a result of changes in altitude.

  • Publication number: 20240126103
Abstract: A prescription lens insert and methods of use are described, in which flexing a frame of a prescription lens insert, such that left and right rims of the frame are displaced mediolaterally, aligns respective larger ends of two keyhole apertures of the frame with left and right mushroom-shaped connector pegs protruding rearward from a pair of protective glasses. The prescription lens insert is then placed over the left and right connector pegs, such that distal heads of the connector pegs pass through the two keyhole apertures of the frame and the keyhole apertures are disposed adjacent shaft portions of the connector pegs. The frame of the prescription lens insert is then unflexed to align respective smaller ends of the two keyhole apertures with the left and right connector pegs, such that the distal heads prevent removal of the unflexed frame.

  • Publication number: 20240126135
Abstract: A beam delivery system is provided that includes a beam delivery photonic integrated circuit. The beam delivery photonic integrated circuit includes one or more optical inputs; a plurality of waveguide outputs; and a plurality of beam paths. Each beam path connects one of the plurality of waveguide outputs to at least one of the optical inputs. The plurality of waveguide outputs are configured to emit a plurality of parallel beams. The beam delivery photonic integrated circuit is on a chip. The beam delivery system further includes a telecentric optical relay assembly. The telecentric optical relay assembly is configured to receive the plurality of parallel beams provided by the waveguide outputs and focus each received beam on a corresponding one of a plurality of positions of an atomic object confinement apparatus in a telecentric manner.
