  • Publication number: 20110067837
Abstract: A heat exchanger includes a bundle of tubes, which can be inserted into a tubular housing. Exhaust gas can flow through the tubes. A coolant duct can be arranged between the tubes. The bundle of tubes can have at least one grid-like securing structure which supports the bundle in the housing. The behavior of the heat exchanger with respect to vibrations is affected by outwardly curved metallic springs attached to the bundle of tubes which may be deformed in the opposite direction to the insertion direction of the bundle into the housing. The spring force is directed against the housing in order to dampen vibrations. The heat exchanger can also include an elastic device for permitting a change in length caused by temperature changes.

  • Patent number: 7853449
Abstract: Techniques are provided for generating improved language modeling. Such improved modeling is achieved by conditioning a language model on a state of a dialog for which the language model is employed. For example, the techniques of the invention may improve modeling of language for use in a speech recognizer of an automatic natural language based dialog system. Improved usability of the dialog system arises from better recognition of a user's utterances by a speech recognizer, associated with the dialog system, using the dialog state-conditioned language models. By way of example, the state of the dialog may be quantified as: (i) the internal state of the natural language understanding part of the dialog system; or (ii) words in the prompt that the dialog system played to the user.

  • Patent number: 7801727
Abstract: A method for generating a language component vocabulary VC for a speech recognition system having a language vocabulary V of a plurality of word forms is disclosed. The method includes: partitioning the language vocabulary V into subsets of word forms based on frequencies of occurrence of the respective word forms; and in at least one of the subsets, splitting word forms having frequencies less than a threshold to thereby generate word form components. Also disclosed is a method for use in speech recognition including: splitting an acoustic vocabulary comprising baseforms into baseform components and storing the baseform components; and, performing sound to spelling mapping on the baseform components so as to generate a baseform components to word parts table for use in subsequent decoding of speech.

  • Patent number: 7603242
Abstract: A method of detecting a fuel leak from a fuel store of an aircraft where a processor receives inputs relating to the amount of fuel in the fuel store and to the rate of fuel used by the aircraft. The processor defines a fuel flow system state defined by a noise-compensated measures of the amount of fuel in the fuel store, a fuel leak amount estimate and a fuel leak rate estimate. The processor periodically calculates a new estimated state of the system in view of a previous estimated state and values of the inputs. The processor monitors the fuel leak amount estimate and the fuel leak rate estimate and if either exceeds a respective threshold value send a signal to a fuel leak warning device.

  • Patent number: 7428634
Abstract: An automatic method and apparatus for providing services on a computer system. A set of services is established providing different functionality for the computer system. With each of the set of services an attribute is stored for identifying characteristics of the function of each of the set of services. Then, the first set of services can be retrieved by a first set of attributes which is specified irrespective of any locales which may be defined in the computer system. Thus, characteristics or attributes of most importance to a service may be used to describe it and used for retrieval of such services. The establishing of the first set of services includes building a structure which references each of the first set of services. Retrieving may include maintaining a reference to one of the services in the structure and iterating through the structure in order to retrieve a subsequent one of the services.
