  • Patent number: 10844877
Abstract: A device for evacuating a film chamber using a pump system that comprises at least two vacuum pumps, designed to evacuate the film chamber alternately. A suction capacity of the first vacuum pump is greater than that of the second vacuum pump and the final pressure achievable by the first vacuum pump is less than that of the second vacuum pump.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 15, 2014
Date of Patent: November 24, 2020
    Assignee: INFICON GmbH
Inventors: Silvio Decker, Michael Dauenhauer, Daniel Wetzig, Hjalmar Bruhns
  • Patent number: 10401251
Abstract: The invention relates to a film chamber for receiving a test object to be tested for the presence of a leak, including at least two film layers and at least two frame elements, each of which has a sealing surface so that the two frame elements lie against each other in a gas-tight manner in order to hermetically seal the film chamber. Each of the two film layers has at least one retaining profile in a wall region, and each of the two frame elements has at least one retaining groove in the frame element sealing surface in order to receive a retaining profile such that the two film layers are held between the two frame elements substantially by a formfitting connection.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 16, 2015
Date of Patent: September 3, 2019
    Assignee: INFICON GmbH

  • Patent number: 9733147
Abstract: A method for testing a leak detector by using a leak detection device having a test leak and which is provided with a cavity that can be filled with gas, including the following steps: a) filling the cavity with ambient air up to an interior pressure in the interior of cavity that corresponds to ambient atmospheric pressure, b) establishing an exterior pressure in the area surrounding the leak detection device that is lower than the interior pressure, c) measuring the leakage rate of the air flowing through the test leak from the interior to the exterior of the leak detection device, and d) establishing an atmosphere consisting of ambient air with ambient atmospheric pressure as exterior pressure in the area surrounding the leak detection device.

  • Patent number: 8893543
Abstract: A leak detection method using a specimen filled with a test gas positioned in front of a suction opening. Air is suctioned along the entire surface of the specimen and takes up test gas in the case of a leak. The test gas is recognized by a test gas detector. According to the invention, full mobility of the specimen is ensured during the testing process so that the leak detection method can be carried out while the specimens are moving past the suction opening.

  • Publication number: 20110283769
Abstract: In the leak detection method, it is provided that a specimen (24) filled with a test gas is positioned in front of a suction opening (11). The suctioned air brushes along the surface of said specimen and takes up test gas in the case of a leak. Said test gas is recognized by a test gas detector (17,17a). According to the invention, full mobility of said specimen (24) is ensured during the testing process such that a test can also be carried out while said specimens are moving past said suction opening.
