Abstract: A package for prolonging the storage life of produce is disclosed. The package comprises a gas permeable container and an atmosphere modifying device contained within the container. The atmosphere modifying device comprises a carbon dioxide emitter, an oxygen scavenger, and an optional ethylene scavenger. Produce is stored in the container with the device. The device and container are suitable to use in a consumer's home (e.g., kitchen cabinet or refrigerator).
