  • Patent number: 5203810
Abstract: A method of making a concrete structure, such as a burial vault, having an integrally bonded thermoplastic resin liner. The liner is a rigid molded product having a bottom wall and side walls and an open top. A thermosetting resin adhesive is applied to the outer surface of the liner and consists of an epoxy resin system, a solvent for the thermoplastic liner, and a surfactant. Before the adhesive is fully cured, wet flowable concrete is applied to the adhesive layer. The solvent acts to solubilize the outer surface of the plastic liner, while the surfactant reduces the hydrophobic characteristics of the adhesive to provide a firmly bonded composite structure.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 11, 1992
Date of Patent: April 20, 1993
    Assignee: Wilbert, Inc.

  • Patent number: 5106415
Abstract: A protective coating composition for metal articles comprising a flowable mixture of finely divided wax particles having a melting point in the range of 120.degree. to 350.degree. F. in a liquid oil. The composition can also contain finely divided particles of an inert filler and an anticorrosion agent. The composition is applied to the article and heated to a temperature in the range of 150.degree. F. to 400.degree. F. to provide a homogeneous liquid coating. On cooling to ambient temperature, a solid adherent coating results.

  • Patent number: 4827581
Abstract: A metal casket having an impervious plastisol liner and method of producing the casket. A plastisol coating composition is prepared of a thermoplastic resin, a plasticizer for the resin, and a small amount of adhesion resin which is capable of bonding to the casket surface. The coating composition is applied to the inner surface of the casket and the casket is heated to a temperature above 225.degree. F. to provide a fused impervious coating. The coating is resistant to the organic acides contained within the casket and acts as a containment liner to seal and prevent corrosion of the casket.

  • Patent number: 4520043
Abstract: A coating composition to be applied to a metal casket to prevent corrosion thereof. The coating comprises a film forming matrix containing dispersed particles of an alkaline material capable of neutralizing the finite amount of organic acids contained in the casket to thereby prevent acidic corrosion of the casket. The coating can also contain an anti-oxidant to prevent oxidative corrosion of the metal casket, and a bacteriacide to prevent microbial growth within the casket. Through use of the coating, a stable, substantially neutral condition is produced in the casket.
