  • Publication number: 20170278053
Abstract: A system identifies statistically significant variation in sales volume in response to occurrence of an event as well as attendant factors relating to the event. Past events of the same type are identified that fit into one or more categories. The sales data for these past events are aggregated and any statistically significant variation due to the one or more selection criteria can be identified. A forecasting model is then updated to include the one or more categories as factors impacting sales volume. Examples of events include planned events such as holidays and sporting events and unplanned events such as extreme weather or other natural disasters.

  • Publication number: 20170262926
Abstract: A budget-constrained, machine-learning system is described that creates a shopping (purchase) list and performs on-line ordering and delivery. It receives the shopper's past purchase receipts from a retail store, pharmacy and/or auto center. It may attach to a web server to acquire on-line browsing information. The system creates a Purchase List from acquired information. The system receives a budget and determines if all items on the Purchase List can be bought under the budget. If not, the items are given priority ratings. The system walks down the list to in decreasing priority rating order identifying items to purchase without exceeding the budget. The shopper may override the items identified to be purchased. Shopper override is monitored by a machine learning engine which adjusts the priority rating of the item or the period of replacement for the next shopping trip/session, allowing for more accurate results and flexibility.

  • Publication number: 20170249073
Abstract: Methodologies, systems, and computer-readable media are provided for dynamic virtual data analysis. A first subset of performance metric data relating to a number of facilities is compared between at least two of the facilities to generate a first level comparison. A second subset of the performance metric data associated with two or more sections of at least one facility is compared to generate a second level comparison. A processor generates a graphical representation of the first level comparison and the second level comparison. A user electronic device can receive input from a user to dynamically navigate between a rendering of the graphical representation of the first level comparison and a rendering of the graphical representation of the second level comparison. The user can also modify the first subset of data or the second subset of data to update the first level comparison or the second level comparison.

  • Publication number: 20170245237
Abstract: Described in detail herein are systems and methods for tracking clusters of user devices within a facility. In exemplary embodiments, a plurality of network devices are distributed within a facility. The network devices may receive connection data indicating probing by at least one of a plurality of user devices within the facility. A processing unit may be coupled to the network devices and the processing unit may extract location data from the connection data received by the network devices. The location data may indicate the location of the user devices with respect in the facility. The processing unit may determine a projected path for the plurality of user devices based on the location data. The processing unit may generate a response based on then projected path of the plurality of user device.

  • Publication number: 20170177725
Abstract: The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for developing an item data model for an item. Aspects of the invention can automate the process of data collection of “facts” for “items” that information is needed about. Facts can be organized and normalized to eliminate redundant facts, and interpret what is found. Data requirements extraction and automated modeling using a combination of data virtualization, data analytics, extract, transform, and load (ETL), web crawlers, and reverse engineering systems, can be used along with other technologies to develop an item model. A model owner feeds a curating module with the information for locating the facts to be used, and initiating the modeling process. Existing data structures, websites, vendor input, etc. can be described to the import process, and an item model is produced. The model can be imported into existing modeling tools for viewing, or viewed as XML.

  • Publication number: 20170177748
Abstract: A user inputs an address to a computer system, which retrieves an aerial image of the lot and identifies features visible in the image. A user selects a feature and a scanning drone is programmed with GPS coordinates of the boundary of the feature. The drone scans the feature and a model is generated. Upgrades for the feature are selected based on local weather and other factors. The model is updated according to a selected upgrade and rendered for a user. Training materials may be generated that include illustrations of the model modified to show intermediate stages of applying an upgrade. Materials required to apply the upgrade are determined from a surface area of the feature, including taking into account texture detected by scanning.

  • Publication number: 20170148324
Abstract: The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for navigating a customer to a parking space. A customer sends a request from a mobile device or vehicle navigation system for directions to a parking space in a store parking lot. A store computer receives the customer request along with parking requests from other customers. The store computer identifies appropriate candidate parking spaces utilizing camera systems, sensor systems, location of customer mobile devices, and point-of-sale (POS) activity. The store computer identifies the candidate spaces for each customer based on their proximity to the store and their parking preferences. The store computer transmits navigation instructions to parking spaces via the customer mobile devices and/or the vehicle navigation systems. The parking space is stored in the customer mobile device and is used by the customer upon exiting the store for navigation instructions back to the customer parking space.

  • Publication number: 20170061346
Abstract: The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for correlating data from satellite images with retail location performance. A computer system accesses extracted satellite image data that has been extracted from satellite imagery of a retail location. The computer system also accesses one or more other types of data related to the retail location, such as, for example, retail location performance data and data pertaining to community events within the retail location community. The computer system performs a statistical analysis to determine the correlation between the satellite image data and one or more of the community events and the retail location performance. The computer system generates a visualization of the analyzed data for presentation at a display device to assist with making operations related decisions for the retail location. In some aspects, the satellite imagery is overlaid on the visualization of the analyzed data.

  • Publication number: 20170046708
Abstract: The present disclosure extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for detecting and responding to potentially fraudulent tender. A customer presents a form of a tender at a Point-of-Sale (POS) terminal in a retail location. The tender is presented as payment for one or more items. Transaction data, including tender data, item data, and geographic data, is sent to a central system for analysis. The central system determines that the presented tender is potentially fraudulent based on: the one or more items, purchase history associated with the presented tender, and the geographic location of the POS terminal. In response, in-store surveillance equipment at the retail location is used to save a recording of the customer. One or more parties designated for asset protection are alerted about the potentially fraudulent tender.
