  • Publication number: 20180334100
Abstract: A motor vehicle includes a display screen viewable by a driver of the motor vehicle. A rearview camera captures images of a scene behind the motor vehicle. Means detects a location of an object behind the motor vehicle. An actuator is coupled to the rearview camera and changes a field of view of the rearview camera. An electronic processor is communicatively coupled to the display screen, the rearview camera, the detecting means, and the actuator. The electronic processor controls the actuator to change the field of view of the rearview camera dependent upon the detected location of the object behind the motor vehicle. • Publication number: 20180304814
Abstract: A motor vehicle has an internal camera capturing first images including at least one eye of a driver of the motor vehicle. An external camera captures second images. The second images are of a scene behind the motor vehicle. An electronic processor is communicatively coupled to both the internal camera and the external camera. The electronic processor determines, based on the first images, a location of the at least one eye of a driver. The electronic processor transmits a video signal representing a selected portion of mirror images of the second images. The portion of the mirror images of the second images that is selected for inclusion in the video signal is dependent upon the determined location of the at least one eye of the driver. A display screen is communicatively coupled to the electronic processor and displays the video signal.

  • Publication number: 20180297523
Abstract: A motor vehicle includes a display screen viewable by a driver of the motor vehicle. A rearview camera is mounted on a rear end of the motor vehicle and captures images of a scene behind the motor vehicle. An electronic processor is communicatively coupled to the display screen and to the rearview camera. The electronic processor processes the images captured by the camera to thereby present on the display screen video content having a virtual camera mount location disposed between the display screen and the rearview camera.

  • Publication number: 20180281685
Abstract: A motor vehicle includes a display screen viewable by a driver of the motor vehicle. A manually adjustable mount is attached to the display screen and enables a three-dimensional orientation of the display screen to be manually adjusted by the driver. The manually adjustable mount transmits an electronic signal indicative of the three-dimensional orientation of the display screen. A rearview camera captures images of a scene behind the motor vehicle. An electronic processor is communicatively coupled to the display screen, the manually adjustable mount and the rearview camera. The electronic processor determines, based on the electronic signal from the manually adjustable mount, the three-dimensional orientation of the display screen. The electronic processor controls video content presented on the display screen. The video content is based on the images captured by the rearview camera. The controlling of the video content is based on the determined three-dimensional orientation of the display screen.
