  • Patent number: 7874580
Abstract: An airbag device for a vehicle, including an airbag package, a receptacle, and a flexible protective covering for the airbag. The flexible protective covering includes at least two flexible, sheet-like protective elements secured to the receptacle. The flexible, sheet-like protective elements are connected to one another via at least one separable tearing line. The flexible, sheet-like protective elements flank the airbag during initial inflation and expansion of the airbag. A flexible guide layer is arranged between the protective covering and the airbag package. The flexible guide layer is permanently connected to a first of the sheet-like protective elements, such that the first sheet-like protective element, together with the guide layer, forms a composite layer flanking the airbag during inflation.

  • Publication number: 20060016749
Abstract: In one aspect, the invention provides an article consisting essentially of a paper layer including about 10 Wt % to about 40 Wt % of a thermoplastic polymer and an ePTFE membrane laminated to the paper layer. Preferably, the paper layer includes about 10 Wt % to about 30 Wt % of a thermoplastic polymer. More preferably, the paper layer includes about 18 Wt % to about 25 Wt % of a thermoplastic polymer. A paper layer including about 20 Wt % of a thermoplastic polymer is most preferred. In another aspect, the thermoplastic polymer may comprise poly vinyl acetate. In yet another aspect, the invention provides a filter media consisting essentially of a cellulose paper layer including about 20 Wt % poly vinyl acetate binder; and an ePTFE membrane laminated to said cellulose paper layer. In still another aspect, the invention provides a paper layer in which the paper is cellulose paper.

  • Patent number: 6334881
Abstract: The present invention is an improved material which may be used as a filter media for gas filtration systems, such as for industrial gas streams and commercial or residential vacuum cleaners. The filter material comprises a filter media support bonded to a porous expanded PTFE membrane, and further comprising a screen material bonded to the porous expanded PTFE. The screen material protects the expanded PTFE surface against damage due to impingement of particles during operation of the gas filtration system.
