  • Patent number: 10307282
Abstract: An apparatus for treatment of plantar fasciitis comprises a first anchor adapted for securing around a leg of a patient, a second anchor adapted for securing around a foot of the leg, first and second toe straps each adapted for attachment between the first and second anchors so as to provide respective first and second dorsiflexion forces to respective first and second subsets of toes of the foot, and a fascia compression strap comprising first and second ends and an intermediate portion between the first and second ends, the first and second ends each adapted for attachment to the first anchor so as to provide static pressure to an underside of the foot via the intermediate portion. The first and second anchors may comprise respective upper and lower portions of a sleeve with the upper and lower portions being adapted for securing around respective ones of the leg and the foot.

  • Patent number: 6493578
Abstract: A small portable instrument monitors residual muscle tension as indicated by electrical activity from electrodes monitoring the muscles. A bio feedback signal is generated whenever tension exceeds a preset threshold and slows or stops as the tension is reduced towards the threshold. The bio feedback signal enables the user to learn how to voluntarily reduce excess muscle tension and lessen harmful health effects caused by stress. The instrument is battery powered, miniaturized and is designed to fit into an ambulatory setting.

  • Patent number: 6078683
Abstract: A denomination recognition apparatus and method uses a programmed microelectronic CPU (14) to execute program instructions (19) stored in PROM (18) to read in pixel data from an optical imaging section including LEDs (15) and photodiodes (16) for generating signals which can be converted to a first image of a currency note (13) being transported along the path of travel. The CPU (14) receives position and skew data detected by external sensors for sensing the position and skew of the note (13).
