    Abstract: A method is provided of treating a domestic mammal for the prevention of minimization of infestation by insects of the order Diptera. The method comprises the application to the mammal of 3-phenoxybenzyl-2,2-dimethyl-3-(2,2-dichlorovinyl) cyclopropane-1-carboxylate (the compounds of formula I) or a formulation comprising a compound of formula I in intimate admixture with a carrier or diluent therefor.
