  • Publication number: 20160332168
Abstract: A sorting conveyor for separating ferromagnetic materials from a stream of materials includes a conveyor component having an input end and an output end. The sorting conveyor also includes a conveyor drive system for driving the conveyor component to move the stream of materials from the input end to the output end for discharge of at least a portion of the stream of materials as a product stream at the output end. A magnetic separator is located adjacent the conveyor component and adapted to divert ferromagnetic materials from the stream of materials into a metal stream that is separate from the product stream.

  • Publication number: 20160304631
Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to a process for separating polymeric and gaseous components of a reaction mixture obtained by high-pressure polymerization of ethylenically unsaturated monomers in the presence of free-radical polymerization initiators into a gaseous fraction and a liquid fraction in a separation vessel, wherein the filling level of the liquid fraction in the separation vessel is measured by a radiometric level measurement system comprising at least two radioactive sources and at least three radiation detectors, and the filling level is controlled by a product discharge valve which operates based on data coming from the level measurement system.

  • Publication number: 20140217214
Abstract: A material reducing machine includes a rotor assembly having a plurality of short cutting tools and a plurality of long cutting tools. The short cutting tools are arranged in rows which extend across the length of the rotor assembly, which rows are spaced around the periphery of the rotor assembly. Each of the short cutting tools has a cutting bit with a leading edge that is spaced outwardly from the periphery of the rotor assembly by a short cutter distance. The long cutting tools are also arranged in rows which extend across the length of the rotor assembly, which rows are spaced around the periphery of the rotor assembly. Each of the long cutting tools has a cutting bit with a leading edge that is spaced outwardly from the periphery of the rotor assembly by a long cutter distance that is greater than the short cutter distance of each of the short cutting tools. A breaker assembly includes a plurality of shear blocks, each of which is spaced so as to be aligned with a short cutting tool.

  • Patent number: 6066369
Abstract: Thin thermoplastic foil is applied with the aid of a wide slit nozzle and an electrostatic discharge electrode to a nonwoven mat of thermoplastic fibers and filaments on a bonding roller and the resulting composite is then subjected to biaxial stretching utilizing at least some of the bonding heat carried by the composite. The composite may then be thermally fixed before being cooled to room temperature.
