  • Patent number: 11813569
Abstract: An exhaust muffler has an exhaust inlet, an exhaust outlet, as well as a catalytic converter which, in the flow direction, is disposed between the exhaust inlet and the exhaust outlet. The catalytic converter has at least one throughflow body which includes at least one wire body. At least one first component region of the throughflow body is coated with a catalytically functioning coating. The throughflow body moreover has a second component region which in terms of volume has a smaller quantity of catalytically functioning coating than the first component region.

  • Patent number: 10330038
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for adapting the composition of a mixture of fuel and combustion air. The mixture is supplied to a combustion chamber of a mixture-lubricated combustion engine in a work apparatus. The fuel is supplied to the combustion engine via a controlled fuel valve. In an operating state (I) of the combustion engine, the quantity of fuel is metered by the fuel valve. For the purpose of adapting the composition of the mixture, the combustion engine is shifted into a special operating state (II) which differs from the normal operating state (I). After starting, the combustion engine is operated in a first rotational speed range (B) for a prespecified operating time (Tmin), wherein, after the prespecified operating time (Tmin) has elapsed, the operating state (II) for adapting the composition of the mixture is initiated by a prespecified user action.

  • Patent number: 10240568
Abstract: A manually actuated feed pump is provided with a primer bulb to be manually actuated by an operator. The primer bulb has a pump chamber. A travel-controlled valve connects the pump chamber to a fuel line. The travel-controlled valve has a valve member that is moved by an actuation travel of the primer bulb into an open position that opens the travel-controlled valve. A first spring is operatively connected to the valve member and to the primer bulb. The primer bulb acts through the first spring on the valve member.

  • Patent number: 9534528
Abstract: An internal combustion engine has a fuel system that has a fuel valve with a housing, wherein in the housing a fuel chamber is formed. A fuel pump pumps fuel from a fuel tank into the fuel chamber. A conveying pump provides forced conveyance of fuel into the fuel system. A feed line is connected to the fuel chamber of the fuel valve. The conveying pump is arranged in the feed line and supplies fuel to the fuel chamber. A relief line is connected to the fuel chamber of the fuel valve and a first valve is arranged in the relief line.

  • Patent number: 9273658
Abstract: A handheld work apparatus includes a fuel tank, into which a flexible fuel line projects. A suction head is arranged at the free end of the fuel line. The suction head is connected via the fuel line to a fuel supply device of an internal combustion engine of the work apparatus. The suction head has at least one weight member. The weight member is formed at least partially as a magnet to achieve good cleaning of the fuel without a substantial increase in the weight of the work apparatus.
