Publication number: 20220301442Abstract: Systems and methods for on-demand enabling of display features for an avionic display in an aircraft while the aircraft is in flight. The method includes rendering the avionic display in accordance with a configuration file that specifies for each display feature of a plurality of display features, whether the display feature is enabled or disabled. When a feature trigger is received, the method determines when a display feature associated with the feature trigger is disabled in the configuration file and generates a notification that the display feature is disabled but available. The display feature can be enabled based on a pilot override. A fault code indicating that the display feature was enabled and an aircraft location at which the display feature was enabled is generated in the configuration file. The fault code can be reported to a subscription service when the flight has ended.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 17, 2021Publication date: September 22, 2022Applicant: HONEYWELL INTERNATIONAL INC.Inventor: Michael Dillard

Patent number: 11442164Abstract: A method for determining convective cell growth from weather radar reflectivity data includes receiving first weather reflectivity values and receiving second weather reflectivity values at a point in time subsequent to receiving the first weather reflectivity values, storing the first and second weather reflectivity values in cells of a three-dimensional buffer, for each of the first and second weather reflectivity values, calculating a vertically-integrated reflectivity (VIR) value for a column of cells in the three-dimensional buffer, the column of cells being associated with a latitude/longitude position, and comparing the VIR value for the second weather reflectivity values against the VIR for the first weather reflectivity values to determine a difference in the VIR values. Furthermore, the method includes displaying a cell growth hazard indication at a weather display in an area of the weather display that corresponds to the latitude/longitude position.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 2019Date of Patent: September 13, 2022Assignee: HONEYWELL INTERNATIONAL INC.Inventors: Michael Dillard, Santosh Mathan, Paul Christianson

Patent number: 11014307Abstract: A method for determining and optimizing manufacturing of an object by additive manufacturing. One or more computers access a three-dimensional digital model of the object and automatically generate a selected number of versions of supports for manufacture of the object. An image of the generated supports is displayed along with the object for visual perception by a user. The user visually observes the displayed versions of supports and object and uses the images to evaluate whether manufacturing the object by additive manufacturing is viable and whether the additive manufacturing supports are optimized. When viable, the object may be built by additive manufacturing using the optimized additive manufacturing supports to support the object.Type: GrantFiled: May 17, 2019Date of Patent: May 25, 2021Assignee: HONEYWELL INTERNATIONAL INC.Inventors: Gregory Colvin, Michael Dillard, Samir Nayak, Robert De Mers, Melissa Bush, Johnathon Wright

Patent number: 10573335Abstract: Methods, systems and apparatuses are provided to perform a continuous-to-continuous mapping of neural signal data received from one or more body sensors connected to an user wherein the one or more body sensors monitors at least neural activities of the user of a sub-vocalized voice at a sensory level and sends the neural signal data to a processor. The processor receives the neural signal data in an iterative closed loop to train the processor and to generate a sufficiently large data set in the neural signal domain to link to a produced voice domain. The processor constructs a common feature space which associates the neural signal domain with the produced voice domain wherein the common feature space implicitly extracts features related to audio communications for linking neural signal domain data to the produced voice data without requiring any prior feature classification of the received neural signal data.Type: GrantFiled: March 20, 2018Date of Patent: February 25, 2020Assignee: HONEYWELL INTERNATIONAL INC.Inventors: Mohammad Moghadamfalahi, Umut Orhan, Michael Dillard
