Abstract: An absorbent structure is described having an absorbent material layer of fibrous or foamed material, a front half section, a back half section, and absorbent gelling material, wherein more than half the weight of the absorbent gelling material is disposed in the back half section of the absorbent structure. The absorbent structure may include an acquisition/distribution layer having a surface overlying said absorbent material layer, wherein more than half of the surface is disposed in the back half section of the absorbent structure. The absorbent material layer of the absorbent structure may also have a back half section with a higher caliper than the caliper of the front half section of the absorbent material layer.

Abstract: An absorbent article especially adapted for users ranging from walking infants to adults in a pre-dominantly lying-down position, comprises cushioning means in at least the back waist region of the article. A liquid barrier is located between the cushioning means and the absorbent core to prevent liquids from migrating into the cushioning means. In one embodiment, the average basis capacity of the absorbent core is highest in the back half section of the core.

Abstract: An absorbent article, particularly a sanitary napkin comprises a liquid pervious topsheet (12), a liquid impervious backsheet (14) and an absorbent core (16, 18) interposed between the topsheet (12) and the backsheet (14). The core comprises a longitudinal center line and two edges. At least one liquid directing barrier structure is applied to the core and/or the topsheet on either side of the longitudinal center line thereof between the center line and the longitudinal edges.

Abstract: A disposable sanitary towel (1) comprising a liquid-permeable upper layer (5), an impermeable lower layer (7) and an absorbent element (6), is provided with an intermediate layer (10) disposed between the upper layer (5) and the absorbent element (6) and extending around the side edges (8) of the absorbent element (6) such that it can distribute the liquid received and prevent losses of liquid from the side edges of the absorbent element (6). The towel (1) is further provided with an absorbent element (6) comprising an improved layer structure.

Abstract: A bleach activator composition in the form of spray-dried granules having an inner core comprising water-soluble organic peroxyacid bleach precursor and a surface coating comprising a water-soluble or water-dispersible, inorganic hydratable material, and wherein the composition has a pH (1% aqueous solution) in the range from about 3 to about 8.The compositions have excellent storage stability and water dispersibility together with simplified processing. Bleach and laundry compositions containing the bleach activator are also disclosed.
