  • Patent number: 10290200
Abstract: Disclosed herein are speech therapeutic devices and methods. In one aspect, the speech therapeutic device includes audio input circuitry, signal processing circuitry, and stimulus circuitry. In certain embodiments, the audio input circuitry is configured to provide an input signal that is indicative of speech provided by a user and the signal processing circuitry is configured to utilize a reconfigurable rule that includes a condition, receive the input signal, process the input signal using the reconfigurable rule, and provide an alert signal responsive to attainment of the condition. The stimulus circuitry is configured to receive the alert signal and provide a stimulus to the user. The signal processing circuitry is additionally configured to (i) receive the reconfigurable rule from a communication network, and/or (ii) generate a record indicative of the alert signal, store the record in a memory, and send the record to a communication network.

  • Publication number: 20180191797
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed toward systems and methods for generating dynamic media effects ready for sending/posting to allow for in-moment sharing of media communications. One or more embodiments involve dynamically identify contextual information associated with a current environment of a client-computing device (e.g., a mobile phone) associated with a user. The systems and methods utilize the contextual information to generate a customized media effect that the user can share, post, or send to others quickly and easily in order to tell a robust story about an in-moment experience.

  • Publication number: 20110309030
Abstract: An apparatus and method for removing hydrocarbon contaminants from a body of water, comprising a skimming device having a driven skimming member arranged to be passed into and out of said body of water for collecting hydrocarbon contaminants, a temperature sensor for sensing the ambient temperature of the body of water and a control device for controlling operation of the skimming device in response to the output of the temperature sensor. The control device is programmed to operate the skimming device when the temperature sensor indicates that the ambient temperature of the mixture of hydrocarbon contaminants and water and/or the body of water and/or the hydrocarbon contaminants is at or above a predetermined minimum temperature such that the skimming device is operated during periodic increases in the temperature of the body of water without requiring additional heating means.
