  • Publication number: 20090161794
Abstract: A video transmission system includes a transceiver module that transmits a video signal to a remote device over at least one RF communications channel wherein the video signal is transmitted as at least one separate video layer stream chosen from, an independent video layer stream and at least one dependent video layer streams that require the independent video layer for decoding. A control module determines at least one channel characteristic of the at least one RF channel and chooses the at least one separate video layer stream based on the at least one channel characteristic of the at least one RF channel.

  • Publication number: 20090158365
Abstract: A video processing device includes a user interface module that receives at least one user preference. A decoder module produces a decoded video signal from a basic video layer stream and at least one graphics layer streams based on the at least one user preference.

  • Publication number: 20090154698
Abstract: A video processing system includes a video encoder that encodes a video signal into a contiguous video stream having an independent portion and a dependent portion that requires the independent portion for decoding. A scrambling module scrambles the contiguous video stream to produce a scrambled video stream by scrambling the independent video portion and leaving the dependent portion unscrambled.

  • Publication number: 20090077911
Abstract: One embodiment the device described herein relates to a frame for an opening defined by a plurality of sidewalls formed in a structure having one of a door or a window disposed within the opening. The frame including one or more seamless frame members formed from a single piece of metal, the one or more frame members including: (1) an open-well configured to receive a sealing means disposed therein for sealing with one of a front or a back surface of the one of a door or a window; (2) an abutting structure position between the sidewall and the lateral portion of the one of the door or the window, and forming a portion of the open-well; and (3) a casing positioned to be viewed from one side of the opening, the casing connecting the open-well and the abutting structure.

  • Patent number: 7478341
Abstract: An apparatus and method for maintaining a graphics display window on a display screen that will not be obscured by any other graphics display window. The graphic display apparatus comprises an arbiter, a gatekeeper and an access control table. The arbiter selects from among a plurality of computer applications requesting authorization on the display screen to display data. Authorization is granted via a persistence attribute. Once a persistence attributed is obtained, the graphics display window remains on the screen unobscured.

  • Publication number: 20050037807
Abstract: An intelligent dual host USB interface module further including a plurality of USB ports for receiving and transmitting USB communication signals over a corresponding plurality of USB lines. The module is operable to receive USB communications from the intelligent dual host USB interface module and to determine whether to transmit the received communications over the intelligent dual host USB interface module to a downstream USB device or whether to process the received USB communications. The term “processing” relates to the specific type of device and respective functionality. For example, the module may be formed within a camera, a printer, an audio/video playback device such as an MP3 player, a CD player or a DVD player, a hard disk drive or a wireless access point or host. In the case of the wireless access point, “processing” relates to converting the received USB signals to outgoing RF signals and transmitting the signals to another wireless device.

  • Publication number: 20040054798
Abstract: An access device may be initially authenticated upon initiating communication with a first access point. Authentication information related to the initial authentication may be provided to a second access point and/or a third access point. The first, second, or third access point may provide service to the access device based on the initial authentication. The initial authentication information may be stored and subsequently retrieved by the second and/or third access point. The second access point may retrieve the initial authentication information when the access device migrates from a first coverage area associated with the first access point to a second coverage area associated with the second access point. Similarly, the third access point may retrieve the initial authentication information when the access device migrates from one of the first coverage area and the second coverage area to a third coverage area associated with the third access point.
