  • Patent number: 5648242
Abstract: The invention provides recombinant DNA molecules which code for polypeptides that exhibit the antigenicity of a P14 allergen of birch Betula verrucosa and other plants of the order Fagales, and for polypeptides comprising at least one epitope thereof, as well as nucleic acids which under stringent conditions hybridize with such DNA sequences or are derivable from such sequences by degeneracy of the genetic code. A method is provided that permits purification of P14 allergens or cross reactive allergens by means of binding to poly(L-proline). In addition, methods are described for making the proteins and polypeptides coded by these DNA molecules and their use in the diagnosis or therapy of diseases.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 6, 1995
Date of Patent: July 15, 1997
Assignee: Biomay Produktions - Und Handelsgesellschaft M.B.H.
Inventors: Rudolf Valenta, Michael Duchene, Karin Pettenburger, Michael Breitenbach, Dietrich Kraft, Helmut Rumpold, Otto Scheiner

  • Patent number: 5550223
Abstract: The gene for the outer membrane protein lipoprotein I (OMPI) of Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 33354 has been sequenced, and the amino acid sequence has been deduced. This makes it possible to obtain this protein and immunogenic part-sequences thereof in the quantity and purity necessary for use for the preparation of vaccines.

Date of Patent: August 27, 1996
    Assignee: Behringwerke Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Michael Duchene, Ulrich von Specht, Horst Domdey
