  • Patent number: 5261183
Abstract: An artificial lure having a body portion of pliable material and a hook portion of rigid material. Curved portions of the hook extend through a passageway in the body portion generally parallel to the longitudinal axis thereof. Relative rotation of the hook and body portions changes the configuration of the pliable body, which conforms to the curvature of the portions of the rigid hook within the body passageway.

  • Patent number: 4831770
Abstract: A fishing lure in the form of an artificial minnow having a body portion with a plurality of radially extending, spaced ribs and an internal cavity, through which the line or leader extends, for containing a desired amount of sinker weight. A trailing skirt is preferably detachably secured to the body. Assembly of the skirt with the body portion is simplified by attaching the strings or streamers which form the skirt to an open, cylindrical support having internal threads for engagement with external threads on a cylindrical tail portion of the artificial minnow. As an alternative to the threaded connection, the skirt support and minnow tail portion may have cooperative, one-way, snap action assembly means such as opposing saw-tooth configurations.

  • Patent number: 4667437
Abstract: A two-piece fish hook assembly for combination with a rigid lure having a passageway, open at both ends, extending therethrough. A first section of the assembly has a hook at one end and extends through a shank portion to the opposite, terminal end. The other section has an eye at one end for attachment of a line or leader, and extends through a shank portion to the opposite, terminal ends. The hook assembly is assembled with the lure in a permanent manner by inserting the shank portions of the eye and hook sections into the forward and rear ends, respectively, of the passageway. The two shank portions have engagement means in the form of angled teeth on their surfaces which may be slid over one another to bring the shank portions into overlapping relation within the passageway, but which lock the two sections of the assembly together and prevent disengagement thereof from the lure after insertion.

  • Patent number: 4471556
Abstract: A one-piece, molded plastic fish lure in the form of an artificial minnow having a head end with a plurality of spaced openings for connection of the line or leader and a tail end with an opening for mounting a hook. In plan view, the lure is symmetrical about a linear axis between the head and tail ends, having a central body portion with flat side surfaces from each of which side portions divided into forward, intermediate and rear sections, extend outwardly. The longitudinal edges of the body portion extend along curved lines about varying radii with the shortest radius of curvature being in an area about twice as far from the tail end as from the head, the radius of curvature in this portion of one edge being somewhat shorter than that of the other. The forward and rear sections of the side portions are solid while the intermediate section comprises a series of spaced ribs.
