Publication number: 20240116207Abstract: A sealant spreader device fills voids around a drilled hole with sealant in glued-in-rod (GIR) structures. A liquid sealant may be applied to the base of a drilled hole. A sealant spreader device is then inserted to the base of the drilled hole, through the sealant. The sealant spreader device is then withdrawn while rotating. The sealant spreader device includes winged sections having contours which force the sealant radially outward toward walls of the hole, into any voids around the circumference of the drilled hole, and leaves a thin layer of sealant around the circumference of the drilled hole.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 6, 2022Publication date: April 11, 2024Applicant: Simpson Strong-Tie Company Inc.Inventors: Steven E. Patent number: 5272664Abstract: A dynamic random access memory (DRAM) single in-line memory module (SIMM) having optimized physical dimensions achieves high speed and high storage capacity. The DRAM SIMM has a printed circuit board with a multi-contact connector, a plurality of DRAM sets, each set having a plurality of DRAM chips mounted on the printed circuit board, and a plurality of buffers which are also mounted on the printed circuit board. The number of buffers is equal to the number of DRAM sets. Various standard DRAM chips can be used on the SIMM to achieve different performance and storage capacity, while maintaining plug compatibility of the multi-contact connector with a memory board. The buffers buffer the control and address signals for the DRAM chips, which is necessary to keep control and address signal integrity due to the number of DRAMS. The buffers permit each DRAM to receive the necessary control and address signals in a more synchronized fashion, so that relative delays are well controlled.Type: GrantFiled: April 21, 1993Date of Patent: December 21, 1993Assignee: Silicon Graphics, Inc.Inventors: David Alexander, Michael E. Patent number: 5060842Abstract: Nozzle block vanes having damaged trailing edge sections are repaired by removing the damaged section and replacing it by a new forged replacement trailing end section. The replacement section is coated with an erosion resistant coating leaving an uncoated border on three sides, preferably beveled. The coated section is welded to the vane and walls of the nozzle block and the weld portion ground to give a uniform contour between the vane and replacement section. The block is heat treated or the heat affected zone heat treated to provide a repaired vane.Type: GrantFiled: April 9, 1990Date of Patent: October 29, 1991Assignee: Westinghouse Electric Corp.Inventors: Javaid I. Patent number: 4814236Abstract: A laminated metal structure and a method of hardsurfacing stainless steel base metals are herein provided for resisting wear of steam turbine components at elevated temperatures. The laminated metal structure employs a buttering layer, sandwiched between the stainless steel base metal and a hardsurfacing layer. The buttering layer consists essentially of nickel or a nickel-based alloy and is selected to have a coefficient of thermal expansion which is between that of the base metal and that of the hardsurfacing material. This improved structure produces a relatively crack-free deposit that can provide greater service life for turbine components with less downtime due to repairs.Type: GrantFiled: June 22, 1987Date of Patent: March 21, 1989Assignee: Westinghouse Electric Corp.Inventors: Javaid I.
