  • Patent number: 9300277
Abstract: A method and apparatus for reducing jitter in a ring oscillator are described. In one embodiment, the apparatus comprises a first power supply node to provide power supply current; a ring oscillator, coupled to the first power supply node, to generate an oscillating output according to change in the power supply current provided to the ring oscillator; and a second power supply node; a circuit, coupled to the second power supply node, to replicate time-average (e.g., DC) behavior of the ring oscillator; and a feedback mechanism having inputs coupled to the first and second power supply nodes, and an output to control current in the circuit.

Date of Patent: March 29, 2016
    Assignee: Intel Corporation
Inventors: Michael E. Bichan, Robert H. Wang
  • Patent number: 9209821
Abstract: Described is an apparatus which comprises: a ring oscillator having odd number of delay stages; and an interpolator to receive at least three phases from the ring oscillator, the interpolator to generate quadrature clock phases by interpolating the at least four phases.
