  • Publication number: 20240410680
Abstract: An indication may be automatically provided based on a position of a weapon. The weapon may comprise a conducted electrical weapon (“CEW”). The indication may be provided from an indicator integrated with the weapon. The indication may comprise light emitted from a laser indicator integrated with the weapon. The indicator may be selectively activated in accordance with the position to provide the indication. The indication may be provided when the weapon is oriented in a direction in which a projectile may be deployed toward a remote location. The indication may be automatically provided when the weapon is disposed in a horizontal direction or a range of angles of the CEW. Methods, systems, and devices may selectively provide the indication in accordance with the position.

  • Publication number: 20240377159
Abstract: Holsters of conducted electrical weapons (CEW) comprise a set of magnetic elements. The set of magnetic elements may have positions, polarities, and magnitudes corresponding to types of holsters. The CEW uses sensors to detect one or more of the set of magnetic elements, indicating that the CEW is inserted into the holster. Based on the detected information, the CEW identifies when the CEW is removed from the holster. The CEW additionally uses the detected information to determine a type of holster.

  • Publication number: 20240288250
Abstract: A conducted electrical weapon (“CEW”) comprises one or more mechanisms for receiving, aligning, and maintaining a position of a magazine within a bay of the CEW. Bias spring and datums may be used to align the magazine to be coupled to the CEW, wherein bias springs are configured to apply pressure to push the magazine to interact with datums to align the magazine. A spring and ramp mechanism may be used to maintain a position of the magazine coupled to the bay of the CEW. Respective grades of a locking ramp and a release ramp are used to lock a spring in place when a magazine is coupled to the bay of the CEW.

  • Patent number: 12061075
Abstract: A system for a practice electrode (e.g. dart) for a conducted electrical weapon (“CEW”). An officer issued a CEW is required to practice with the CEW in order to maximize its safe and effective use in a stressful situation. Preferably, training is performed using equipment as similar as possible to the equipment an officer uses in the field. Training with a CEW against a live target may be improved, at least from the perspective of the target, by using a practice dart that is similar in weight and flight to a conventional electrode, but that does not pierce target clothing or tissue or deliver a high voltage current through the target. A practice dart may be similar to a conventional electrode but include additional structure (e.g. cap) that prevents piercing. The additional structure and/or a non-conductive filament may reduce a likelihood of or preclude delivery a current through the target.

  • Patent number: 11990027
Abstract: A conducted electrical weapon (“CEW”) may deploy electrodes toward a target to electrically couple to the target. The CEW may be configured to detect a connection status of at least one electrode of the deployed electrodes. A positive connection status represents a connection being established between the at least one electrode and the target. The CEW may generate an alert in accordance with the connection status. The alert may comprise one or more of an audible alert, a haptic alert, or a visual alert.

  • Publication number: 20240027172
Abstract: A conducted electrical weapon (“CEW”) may distribute deployments from the CEW across a same activation event and across different activation events. The system may distribute deployments based on a deployment list. The deployment list may define a sequential deployment order for a deployment connections of the CEW. The system may determine a next deployment connection and activate the next deployment connection based on the deployment list. The system may update the deployment list responsive to activations of deployment connections such that the deployment list is sequentially maintained between activation events.
