Abstract: A method of controlling a self-service terminal which makes optimal use of features offered by the self-service terminal. The method includes the steps of monitoring operation of a self-service terminal application, determining features of the self-service terminal application used by operators, storing usage information about the features, identifying triggering information, analyzing the usage information and the triggering information to determine optimal features to enable in the self-service terminal application, and enabling the optimal features.

Abstract: A system and method of configuring value cards which facilitates selection of personalized limits on value card use in transactions. The value card configuration system includes a display for displaying value card configuration options, an input device for recording customer selections of the value card configuration options, and a computer for controlling the display and the input device, for assigning a value card identification number to the value card, for dispensing the value card, for establishing a connection to a value card host computer, and for sending the selections to the value card host computer via the connection for later retrieval during a transaction in which the value card is used for payment.

The system includes a computer for collecting travel information from the self-service travel terminals and from assisted-service travel terminals, for analyzing the travel information to determine optimal numbers and locations of the self-service travel terminals, and for generating a report containing optimal numbers and locations of the self-service travel terminals.

Abstract: A system and method for processing passenger requests which encourage certain passengers to use a self-service travel terminal. The system includes an assisted-service travel terminal for collecting information about passengers and for providing a first passenger from the information who has used the assisted-service travel terminal to process previous travel requests, and a self-service travel terminal for processing future requests of the first passenger.
