The first and second chassis portions pivotable relative to the second chassis portion between open and packed states. A first burner support frame is pivotally attached to the first chassis portion and operably slidably supported by the second chassis portion for lateral and vertical movement relative to the second chassis portion. A second burner support frame is pivotally attached to the second chassis portion and operably slidably supported by the second chassis portion for lateral and vertical movement relative to the second chassis portion. Transitioning from the open state to the packed state adjusts the vertical positioning of the first burner support frame relative to the second burner support frame and reduces a distance between laterally outermost extents of the first and second burner support frames.

Abstract: A portable cooking system is provided that includes a burner base, a cooking vessel and a canister. The canister may be oriented in an inverted arrangement. The burner may be oriented vertically above the canister. The system may include an evaporator feed tube that includes a heating section that preheats the fuel prior to the fuel being combusted. Further, the system may include a valve/regulator assembly for reducing the pressure of the fuel prior to the fuel flowing through the evaporator tube or being preheated. The system may be used with butane LPG.
