  • Patent number: 8287986
Abstract: Visibility of ply-bonding created by glassining spot embossing on decorative pattern embossed tissue products is provided by obscuring the glassined spot embosses by distributing them along a meandering path through the decorative pattern, obscuring the edges of the glassined spot embosses by providing a gradual transition therefrom and combinations of the two techniques.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 27, 2009
Date of Patent: October 16, 2012
    Assignee: Georgia-Pacific Consumer Products LP
Inventors: Richard D. Huss, Brian J. Schuh, Michael E. Hennes, Kang Chang Yeh
  • Publication number: 20110229653
Abstract: The present invention is a laser engravable embossing roll exhibiting improved wear characteristics and life span through the use of an epoxy resin based material Specifically, the embossing roll according to the present invention can be produced using standard laser engraving techniques that have heretofore been applied to rubbers. Rubber rolls, while produced significantly faster than engraved steel rolls, have the disadvantage of poor life span due to wear. The epoxy based resin rolls of the present invention overcome these disadvantages by being quickly and easily produced using laser engraving but exhibiting significantly improved wear characteristics.

    Filed: June 2, 2011
    Publication date: September 22, 2011

  • Patent number: 6649024
Abstract: The present invention is a method of applying a chemical treating agent to a cellulose web. The invention is further a means of increasing the bulk, absorbency and pattern definition in an embossed cellulose web without losing softness in the web. Finally, the invention includes products produced by the foregoing processes.
