  • Patent number: 11486710
Abstract: Methods of determining for a vehicle a three-dimensional path that extends between an origin and a destination. The paths are determined based on the vehicle having a limited amount of energy that is not resupplied during travel. • Patent number: 10571287
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide a system for managing the energy resources of a vehicle, such as an electric car. A destination location for the vehicle, as well as a desired amount of energy that should remain in the vehicle upon arrival at the destination location, is determined. Based on this information, the system generates a set of candidate paths along which the vehicle can navigate to the destination location such that, upon arrival, the vehicle has the desired amount of energy in reserve. One of those paths is selected, and while travelling to the destination location, a database with information regarding its energy consumption along the selected path. So updated, the system can generate more accurate candidate paths with respect to an estimated energy consumption for the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 9116185
Abstract: Signal filtering removes effects of a periodic, low-frequency noise signal from a signal of interest. A signal waveform is sampled at different points of a number of consecutive periodic noise signal cycles and the collected samples are averaged to produce a corrected signal. The number of consecutive cycles in which samples are taken and averaged is inversely related to the signal amplitude such that as the signal level decreases, the number of cycles examined increases. Improved RMS calculations are obtained for filtering low-frequency random noise from Hall sensors by averaging samples at different points of a signal cycle to create a composite desired signal cycle to facilitate other signal calculations.

  • Patent number: 8244642
Abstract: Methodology and corresponding apparatus ensure the integrity of utility metering data during power outages while providing improved memory integrity. An initial step includes determining and storing an energy top value that is representative of metered energy, and also includes establishing an update pattern. Accumulated energy is then monitored until a predetermined energy threshold is crossed, at which point a selected state in the update pattern is stored into one of a plurality of energy increment cells. Such stored value can be validated at some point after the data read. The steps of monitoring accumulated energy and storing a selected value/state of the update pattern into additional energy increment cells continue until each of the plurality of energy increment cells is updated with a new value. Upon completion, the energy top value is updated with a new energy total and the process of cycling through each energy increment cell is repeated.

  • Patent number: 8135564
Abstract: A signal filtering technique is designed to remove the effects of a periodic, low-frequency noise signal from a signal of interest. The technique is particularly applicable to periodic signals associated with the output of Hall effect sensors in an electrical metrology environment. Improved RMS calculations are obtained for filtering low-frequency random noise from Hall sensors by averaging samples at different points of a signal cycle to create a composite desired signal cycle to facilitate other signal calculations.

  • Publication number: 20120012772
Abstract: An electric motor assembly includes a rotor rotatable about an axis and a stator spaced radially away from the rotor. An isolation housing, configured to permit magnetic flux to flow therethrough between the rotor and the stator, is disposed between the rotor and the stator and defines an internal rotor chamber, in which the rotor is located. The isolation housing fluidly isolates the internal rotor chamber from the stator. An encapsulating cover is provided that radially and axially surrounds the stator. The cover is formed of a resin material and bonds the stator to the isolation housing to prevent relative movement therebetween.

  • Patent number: 7075288
Abstract: A voltage acquisition circuit for sensing input voltage signals in each phase of an electrical service includes a non-active current transformer configuration that is operable over a wide input voltage range. The current transformer configuration includes primary and secondary windings, an input resistor and a burden resistor across which an output voltage is defined. The input resistor may be relatively large, such as on the order of about one M? and the transformer core may have a nanocrystalline core characterized by predictable magnetic properties versus varied transformer flux levels. This operational predictability facilitates phase compensation via digital filtering or otherwise for any phase shift induced between input and output voltages of the current transformer.
