    Abstract: Disclosed is a surgical instrument for treating tissue in a surgical procedure. The surgical instrument comprises an end effector, comprising an anvil, and a staple cartridge. The surgical instrument further comprises a drive train operably coupled to the end effector, a motor configured to motivate the drive train based on a default control algorithm to affect a tissue treatment motion of the end effector, and a sensor configured to monitor an independent parameter of the surgical procedure. The independent parameter is independent of the motion of the end effector. The surgical instrument further comprises a control circuit coupled to the motor and the sensor. The control circuit is configured to receive an input from the sensor indicative of the independent parameter, and adjust the default control algorithm based on the independent parameter.

    Abstract: Example channel circuits, data storage devices, and methods for asynchronous sampling from an oversampled analog-to-digital converter are described. The channel circuit may include an analog-to-digital converter configured to generate an oversampled digital signal from an analog data signal using a sample rate that is an integer multiple of the baud rate of the channel circuit. A digital sample interpolator may then interpolate interpolated digital signal values from multiple signal values of the oversampled digital signal and select values at baud rate to generate a baud rate digital signal. The baud rate digital signal may be used by an iterative detector in a timing loop and, once a target timing is achieved, for the iterative detector to detect data bits from the interpolated digital signal.

    Abstract: A pouch includes a first and second panel members joined to one another to define a compartment having an opening at the top thereof. A flexible cover overlaps the opening. A belt receiving portion is attached to one of the panels and is mountable on the belt of a user. The first panel is located on an exposed side of the second panel which faces away from the user. The flexible cover is positioned at the top of the second panel to encase the compartment opening in order to prevent the spillage of objects within the compartment when the pouch is inverted, tilted or jostled. At least a portion of the cover is flexibly movable to allow access to the compartment by the user. A belt receiving portion is positioned on a user side which is opposite the exposed side to prevent interference by the belt receiving portion during insertion and extraction of objects to and from the compartment.

    Abstract: A switch circuit for activating and deactivating a motor vehicle cruise control includes a 555 model timer integrated circuit which has a trigger terminal, a reset terminal, a threshold terminal, a control voltage terminal and an output terminal. A substantially constant voltage is applied to the threshold terminal. A first normally-open switch connected between the vehicle ground and the trigger terminal, and a second normally-open switch connected between vehicle ground and the reset terminal. Separate pull-up resistors connect the trigger and reset terminals of the timer to a positive voltage source and a capacitor couples the control voltage terminal to vehicle ground. A relay has a coil connected between the output terminal and vehicle ground, and has a switch that is connected between the common terminal and the ON control terminal of the cruise control. The 555 timer is configured as a latching circuit having an output which toggles in response to operation of the two normally-open switches.

    Abstract: A flexible movable contact having fulcrums for pivoting the contact within notches of a terminal has a tab between the fulcrums offset downwardly and projecting outwardly that extends through an aperture in a flat U-shaped insulating contact carrier to attach one end of the contact to the carrier. A right-angle flat transition surface between the offset tab and primary plane of the contact abuts a convex surface forming an edge of the aperture to permit the contact to pivot relative to the carrier for self-alignment of the fulcrums in the notches. A beam of the contact extends obliquely away from the carrier and has lateral arms terminating in hook portions engaging an opposite side of the carrier. Ears bent over on the free end of the contact beam arrest overtravel movement of the carrier, which movement can be closely controlled by tolerances between the ears and hook portions during manufacture of the movable contact.

    Abstract: A time delay fuse is disclosed which does not require stored energy devices or separated chamber construction, and is dependent on the mass of the low melting point material and metal connector blocks to absorb heat on short duration overloads. The time delay fuse includes one or more fusible links having a combination of relatively high melting point material and a relatively low melting point mass enabling short circuit protection at a multiple of rated current and sustained overload protection at values above rated current. The number of fuse links used in the fuse is directly related to the intended current rating for the total fuse but may be from one to at least 15 links.
