  • Patent number: 10408543
Abstract: A liquid to refrigerant heat exchanger is provided having a stack of nested plates with fluid flow passages defined between the plates. The stack includes a condenser portion and a subcooler portion. A base plate at a bottom end of the stack has a refrigerant outlet port and a receiver bottle joined to it. A receiver flow path extends through a structural connection joining the receiver bottle to the base plate to allow for fluid flow between an internal volume of the receiver bottle and the condenser portion. Another receiver flow path extends through another structural connection to allow for fluid flow between an internal volume of the receiver bottle and the subcooler portion.

    Assignee: MODINE MANUFACTURING COMPANY
Inventors: Robert Barfknecht, Jason Braun, Michael Eklund, Thomas Grotophorst, Jeffrey Hanson, Jean Lysoivanov, Kyle Shisler

  • Publication number: 20070284086
Abstract: A transition assembly is provided for connecting a heat exchanger to an external flow path. The assembly includes a fluid connection tube and a transition tube. The ends of the fluid connection tube and the transition tube are sized such that one tube may be inserted within the other tube. A portion of the exterior tube may then be deformed to retain the interior tube. The ends may be shaped by conventional methods such as swaging.

  • Publication number: 20070256811
Abstract: A heat exchanger (10) includes a mount boss (12) fixed between a pair of adjacent tube runs (16) extending from a header (14). The mount boss (12) includes a pair of oppositely facing contoured surfaces (40) that are shaped to conform to the exterior surfaces of the adjacent tube runs (16).

  • Patent number: 6181924
Abstract: A method and system for rejecting interfering signals in a wireless communication system employing antenna diversity. According to the method, the angle between an interfering signal and a desired carrier signal is determined and used to estimate an offset angle. The offset angle is incrementally adjusted such that, when added to the received signal, the carrier-to-interference (C/I) ratio of the received signal is substantially maximized.
