Abstract: An action control apparatus comprises an iris scanner comprising an image capture device mounted to a movement mechanism, a movement controller arranged to monitor an area proximate the image capture device in order to detect at least one object associated with an expected position of an iris to be scanned, and upon detection of the at least one object, control the movement mechanism based on a position of the at least one object to move the image capture device along the at least one axis to a scanning position where the iris scanner can scan the iris, and an action controller arranged to determine whether to cause an action to occur based on a comparison of the scan of the iris with a database containing data of one or more approved irises.

The method also comprises providing access to one or more electronic coupons via the parking application running on the mobile device in response to the parking request, enabling the user to redeem the one or more electronic coupons via the parking application, and expiring the one or more electronic coupons with the parking application so that the one or more electronic coupons are no longer redeemable via the parking application if the one or more electronic coupons are not redeemed within the parking period.
