The method also comprises providing access to one or more electronic coupons via the parking application running on the mobile device in response to the parking request, enabling the user to redeem the one or more electronic coupons via the parking application, and expiring the one or more electronic coupons with the parking application so that the one or more electronic coupons are no longer redeemable via the parking application if the one or more electronic coupons are not redeemed within the parking period.
