  • Publication number: 20140324454
Abstract: Methods and systems enable healthcare providers to treat a medical condition of a patient using a processor that may receive assessment data of the patient, which may include a health history and results from at least one diagnostic test. Treatment of the medical condition may also include using the processor to evaluate the received assessment data for identifying a medical condition of the patient and a metabolite that affects the medical condition, to identify a probiotic that regulates the metabolite, to develop a formula for a personalized medication that includes the identified probiotic based on the identified probiotic and the patient's medical records, and to send the formula for the personalized medication to a manufacturing site server for use in manufacturing the personalized medication.

  • Patent number: 8825503
Abstract: Methods and systems enable healthcare providers to identify metabolites that may cause a medical condition in a patient. The healthcare providers may then use the identified metabolite to identify a probiotic that may affect the regulation of that metabolite. Patient information, such as medical history and diagnosis data may then be used in combination with the identified probiotic to create a personalized medicament for that patient.

  • Patent number: 8538094
Abstract: An objective measure of human QOL is determined by a QOL quantification system. The QOL quantification system comprises a QOL rules engine, a QOL measure datastore, a score data archive, a user computing device, and a network. The QOL measure datastore comprises quantifiable measures of QOL of a QOL factor. The QOL rules engine comprises instructions for receiving user data indicative of a plurality of attributes of a selected QOL factor of the user, obtaining measures of QOL from the QOL measures datastore associated with the selected QOL factor, evaluating the user data against the QOL measures of the selected QOL factor, determining a user score indicative of the QOL of the selected QOL factor of the user, storing the user score in the score data archive, and comparing the user score to a score stored in the score data archive. The QOL rules engine may also suggest change options to one or more QOL factors to improve the user score.

  • Publication number: 20120277260
Abstract: A method of preventing or treating constipation in a patient who has been chronically taking opioids, the method comprising administering a quaternary derivative of noroxymorphone in an amount sufficient to prevent or treat the side effect in the patient, but which amount would be insufficient to treat a patient with the same opioid-induced side effect who had not chronically been administered opioids.

  • Patent number: 8005270
Abstract: An objective measure of human beauty is determined by a beauty quantification system. The beauty quantification system comprises a beauty quantification processor, a beauty measure datastore, a beauty score datastore, a user computing device, and a network. The beauty measure datastore comprises quantifiable measures of beauty of a body region. The beauty quantification processor comprises instructions for receiving user data indicative of physical attributes of a selected body region of the user, obtaining measures of beauty from the beauty measures datastore associated with the selected body region, evaluating the user data against the beauty measures of the selected body region, determining a user score indicative of the beauty of the selected body region of the user, storing the user score in the beauty score datastore, and comparing the user score to a score stored in the beauty score datastore.

  • Patent number: 7976879
Abstract: A product and method for administering daily micronutrient requirements (DMRs) comprising vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids targeted to reduce appetite and/or the risks associated with aging and associated cognitive impairment. The DMRs are administered to individuals via food products. In an embodiment of the present invention, the DMRs are offered in the form of a health bar, smoothie, or drink. The DMRs may be incorporated into other forms without departing from the scope of the present invention. By way of illustration and not as a limitation, the constituents may be incorporated into a fruit or yogurt “smoothie,” a frozen desert such as an ice cream or sorbet, and a beverage.

  • Patent number: 7814169
Abstract: A system and method for establishing and retrieving data based upon global indices established on the date of first use by a user. The system uses a distributed data name service (DDNS) which uniquely identifies users based upon the unique ID of devices on the system combined with the date and time of first use. Both the unique device ID and the unique user ID's are stored on servers of the system. This unique user ID generated is used for all subsequent uses of the system by the user. Searching for data generated by devices of the system relating to a particular user is accomplished by searching for instances of the user ID on servers of the system rather than by searching for the data itself. A simplified data transport protocol allows for the transfer of data from one location to another after the data is located.

  • Publication number: 20100179833
Abstract: System and methods are disclosed that provide a coaching system that is programmed to process data entered automatically or manually for a given client and determine an indication of progress for the given client according to a coaching plan designed for the client. A response generator automatically generates a personalized response for the given client depending on the indication of progress for the given client, which response can be sent to the given client with or without first being reviewed by the client's coach.
