The bias port receives a DC amplifier bias potential (142) for controlling the power gain of the RF amplifier stage and the supply port receives a power supply. A bias control (202) switchably provides the DC amplifier bias potential (142) at the bias port while a supply control switchably provides the power supply (210) in response (160) to the bias control (202) at the supply port.
