  • Publication number: 20200223729
Abstract: A system for effectively removing biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), total suspended solids (TSS), ammonia, total nitrogen (TN), and total phosphorus (TP) from wastewater has integrated multiple physiochemical and biological treatment processes into one unit. This system includes a primary DAF unit, anoxic bio-media treatment zone, and a secondary DAF unit. The bio-media treatment zones may be used to remove BOD and TN and may be divided into a number of functional zones. Each functional zone can develop and accumulate optimized bacteria species and microorganisms based on incoming wastewater BOD and nutrient levels.

  • Publication number: 20200131051
Abstract: A system for recovering fat, oil and grease (FOG) from wastewater has multiple annular flotation zones in a concentric configuration surrounding a central column to create progressively increasing surface areas for FOG and solid particles flotation, and thereby enhance FOG recovery and removal. Each flotation zone is equipped with an independent pressurized micro air and ozone bubbles distribution system. A controlled amount of ozone can be injected into the wastewater along with recirculated effluent and micro-size air bubbles. Upon the release of pressurized air-ozone-water mixture, micro-size bubbles are generated and distributed in each flotation zone to effectively float up FOG and solid particles in the wastewater stream.

  • Publication number: 20180212136
Abstract: A new heat treatment for Internal-Tin Nb3Sn strands is described. The heat treatment uses Nausite membranes to decrease the volume fraction of the ? phase and therefore minimize its liquefaction—ultimately resulting in better connected Nb3Sn. The heat treatment requires only one stage aside from the final Nb3Sn reaction stage. This heat treatment enables an increase in critical current density (at 16 T) of 28%.

  • Patent number: 8943681
Abstract: A device for use as an adjunct in assuring that a manufactured wire is substantially free of internal flaws. A plurality of successively adjacent wire bending stations are provided, where each station includes means for bending the wire into bending planes which are different for each of the stations. The wire is passed through the successive stations, whereby the different bending planes at each station subject the wire at each station to tensile bending strain at portions of the wire cross-section which are different for each station. As a result the probability is increased that a given internal flaw in the wire will be exposed to the tensile bending strain condition as the wire passes through the successive stations, increasing likelihood of breakage of the wire at the flaw or of flaw magnification to improve detection of the flaw during subsequent wire inspections.
