Publication number: 20240390992Abstract: A split hole saw bit designed for efficiently cutting circular holes in wood and simplifying the removal of the cut portion of wood (i.e., plug) from within the saw bit is disclosed. The bit comprises first and second semi-cylindrical members that, when assembled, form a circular bit equipped with cutting teeth at their bottom ends for initiating and performing the cut. A center pilot bit extends below the circular bit, designed to drill ahead, thereby facilitating the start of the cutting operation. The semi-cylindrical members are secured together using a nut having an integrated stopper which secures the semi-cylindrical members and prevents vertical movement of the center pilot bit during use.
