  • Publication number: 20240390992
Abstract: A split hole saw bit designed for efficiently cutting circular holes in wood and simplifying the removal of the cut portion of wood (i.e., plug) from within the saw bit is disclosed. The bit comprises first and second semi-cylindrical members that, when assembled, form a circular bit equipped with cutting teeth at their bottom ends for initiating and performing the cut. A center pilot bit extends below the circular bit, designed to drill ahead, thereby facilitating the start of the cutting operation. The semi-cylindrical members are secured together using a nut having an integrated stopper which secures the semi-cylindrical members and prevents vertical movement of the center pilot bit during use. The drill head of the center pilot can be used with any drill and the bit enables easy detachment of the semi-cylindrical members for quick removal of the wood plug.

  • Patent number: 11962293
Abstract: A passive sensor for detecting the operation of a light source includes a photosensor which, when illuminated by the light source, delivers a voltage to a field effect transistor (FET) which can switch a circuit to control a device at a remote location. The FET transitions rapidly between very low resistance (short circuit) and very high resistance (open circuit), allowing a binary indication to be given in the circuit. The circuit can be used to charge an electrical storage device to allow later download of recent status of the lamp by detecting the charge stored in the device.
