The bit comprises first and second semi-cylindrical members that, when assembled, form a circular bit equipped with cutting teeth at their bottom ends for initiating and performing the cut. A center pilot bit extends below the circular bit, designed to drill ahead, thereby facilitating the start of the cutting operation. The semi-cylindrical members are secured together using a nut having an integrated stopper which secures the semi-cylindrical members and prevents vertical movement of the center pilot bit during use.
