Abstract: According to an aspect, a method includes receiving, by a client application, a video stream of a live broadcast from a messaging platform, displaying, by the client application, the video stream of the live broadcast on a user interface of the client application, receiving, via a timestamp selector on the user interface, a selection of a time location in a time window of a timeline of the video stream of the live broadcast, generating, by the client application, a timestamp based on the time location received via the timestamp selector, and sending, by the client application, a message that includes the timestamp to the messaging platform to share the video stream of the live broadcast on the messaging platform such that playback of the shared video stream of the live broadcast is configured to start at the time location indicated by the timestamp.

Abstract: According to an aspect, a system for implementing a video clip service may include a video editor configured to receive a broadcast media stream and obtain a volume of social media engagements of a social media platform. The social media engagements include user engagements on the social media platform about the broadcast stream. The video editor may include a correlator configured to correlate the volume of social media engagements with a timeline of the broadcast media stream, a moment detector configured to detect one or more segments of the broadcast media stream using the volume of social media engagements, and a clip creator configured to automatically create a video clip with the one or more segments. The system may also include a video surfacer configured to provide the video clip for inclusion in a content stream of one or more users of the social media platform.

Abstract: A system and method including: a source video for broadcast by a social media platform may be received; a set of video snippets may be extracted from the source video; a subset of the video snippets may be joined to form a preview video; a request for content for an account of the social media platform may be received from a client device; and the preview video may be provided to the client device for automatic playback by the client device in a playback area displayed inline with a message stream of the account.

Abstract: Apparatus for generating and editing media assets based on context is provided. In one example, the apparatus includes logic for causing the display of a suggestion for a media asset to a user based on context, logic for receiving at least one media asset, and logic for receiving an edit instruction associated with the at least one media asset. The context may be derived from user input or activity (e.g., in response to inquiries, associated websites where an editor is launched from), user profile information such as community or group associations, and so on. Additionally, context may include objectives of the user such as generating a dating video, wedding video, real estate video, music video, or the like.
