    Abstract: A grapple is provided having (a) a first jaw hinged together with a second jaw and (b) a pair of hydraulic cylinders disposed on opposite sides of the jaw. Both of the cylinders are capable of opening and closing the hinged jaws without the use of a stiff arm. In one embodiment of the invention, the pair of hydraulic cylinders are fully enclosed within a compartment within one of the jaws.
